  1. depnding on your origin you can have an exclusive weapon on that specific region.avarosa can have true ice, demacia magic dampebing weapon and armor, noxus can have runic weapon which is the same as riven use.

  2. first thing first drop the word "race" and use the real word" species". Ok they are all "people" but race in mmorpg have a lot of problematic aspect and design of architecture, organisation, culture and so on are much more interresting if you dont fools yourself with rasict bullshit like WOW.

  3. about faction, to me the easyest way is optionnal faction, you create a carracter you choose your starting zone and you can join one of the big faction( demacia, noxius, sejuani clan….) later and get pvp quest and so on with the faction you choose.

  4. I think that it might end up having a lot of similarities to Albion online tbh. I tdont think there will be a two faction system. You will probably be able to join a kingdom/faction, and whoever they are hostile towards will be who you can pvp without being an outlaw (and places like bilgewater will pvp everyone). Furthermore, i think it will be classless. I wouldnt be surprised if there was some sort of archetype system, where you choose a primary skill tree where most of your abilities come from, but otherwise i think youll be free to choose your abilities that you learn throughout gameplay. And obviously the big bads at first are going to be demons right? And if not them, the two remaining ones are the void and shadow isles. Each faction will have its own big bad as well, not as imposing as the main, but still spooky. For example, shurima might have another tyrant trying to ascend that you need to stop, in Ionia you might have to battle jhin in his newly formed network of psychopathic death cultists, in Demacia, you might need to stop sylas from toppling the government, in Noxus, there might be an underground crime ring in the gladiatory arenas that needs to be stopped, and many more ideas. Either way, this game will either be really big in 2026 or really flop. Im excited. Wish i had real experience as a game dev so i could help make it but whatever

  5. Fuck the two factions thing. Make it three or maybe even four. Why would ixtal ally woth demacia or noxus? Or any place in the southern continent for that matter. That whole area along woth freljord feel like their own major areas themselves. 2 factions would make no damn sense

  6. i support that champions should be a rare sighting in the mmo.
yes there are a lot of champions but in runeterra they are too legendary to be common.
someone like ryze who is literally protecting the world shouldn't be a common sight or master yi who is simply a flash of light on the battlefield

  7. Would be a real treat if Riot brought back the lore of the Rift namely Magelords and Protectorate if that's what its called, it was before my time as a LoL player

  8. When TB mentionned the "mages vs non-mages" thing i tried to think of a way to put this in the mmo (or at least in a way that would allow the mages to have their own specific interactions with people in Demacia – or elsewhere). And the first thing that came to my mind was SWTOR. I mean, what i loved the most in TOR was clearly the story and how each class had one specific scenario, so idk, maybe it would fit in this Runeterra mmo. Or maybe Riot could surprise us !

Oh god, i can't believe i'm already hyped for a game that will not come out until at least 5-6 years ):

  9. i think something along the lines of Albion Online would be really cool, in that game you have 5 factions (area restricted), but you online join them if you want. Or something like GW2 where you have massive sartting areas with their own culture and quests. Also i think there could be regular classes, with different specializations, restricted to areas (Ionia, Demacia, ect). For example, i ll start as a warrior, but them can specialize into a monk, in Ionia, or a Berserk on Freljord, etc

  10. Doubt factions would be a thing, rips into the lore that has been written.
WoWs factions are deep into the lore and make sense to a large extent.
Warcraft 3 left us with major 4 factions. The Alliance(Humans, Dwarves, Gnomes), the Horde(Orcs, Trolls, Tauren), the Nightelves, and the Undead. It was already played out that the Orcish horde fought with the Alliance and Night Elves so the Night Elves and Alliance joining wasn't a stretch, and the Forsaken could have allied with the horde lore wise with only a bit of stretching.

How do you make Runeterra Factions work in alliances of 2 world factions.
The Rebellion isn't even rebelling, they are sovereign despite Noxus demanding they kneel BEFORE THE MIGHT OF NOXUS AND ITS RIGHTFUL CLAIM OF STRENGTH… woops gotta remember to keep my NOXIAN PRIDE on the downlow.
I mean look at how Demacia and Ionia would see eachother, they'd hate eachother but they both hate Noxus, but I don't think they could get along well enough to make a faction. Demacia itself just wouldn't make good relations with any of the other factions due to their disagreement on magic.

I think they will take the non faction approach to get away from WoW and add reputation type concepts where you join a smaller faction for questlines and such. Thats how I see them doing it as fighting WoW head on is fighting a(at the time of release of this MMO) 20 year established behemoth.

  12. Oh wow really Noxus get getting into Shurima Demacia and Ionia (that a good plan to get your ass kick looking to get everyone under one banner and you are sure to fail.)
Any way Just saying (I get it they are inclusive and all but that won't help you whene you will have bassicly small part of your territory reeling every where and you trying to also push your territory farder there a reason why empire never really work sure they did it but all empire fail under there Owen weight so…)

Any way SORRY FOR THE BAD ENGLISH

  13. I feel like 6 years is an overestimation. Sure that would be an apt prediction if devopement had only just started, but I have a feeling that this project has probably been worked on for a decent amount of time before we got this announcement.

  14. Would work wonders if ALL characters DIDN'T have starting factions. Hear me out. Imagine if:

    1. Factions ARE in the game.
Each is allied to some, neutral to some and enemy to some among the other factions (like Demacia is allied with Avarosians and Ionia, enemy with Winterclaws, Noxus and Zaun, and neutral to the others).

    2. Players ARE NOT pre-assigned to a faction.
They decide where to start their story and they build loyalty/reputation towards factions. By two means:
2A. Quests and storilines, ofc. There you can actually CHOSE who to side with and/or if you want or want not to do something beneficial/harmful to a faction. That would also open some very interesting in-quest pvp opportunities (i.e. players chosing different sides in a quest would see each other as an enemy, but not anymore once the quest is over).
2B. There would be events, minor or major, where you can freely chose which side you fight for.
That would allow for EPIC and UNIQUE story arcs, such as a Demacian mage betraying other mages and becoming a mage hunter (rep towards Demacia) OR fight in Sylas rebellion (rep against Demacia). And someone fighting demacia could or could not end up joining the Noxian army, or they would just stay neutral to Noxus and go to Ionia or wherever else. All of this up to the player.
Or maybe a Noxian former slave, freed during the initial quest, chosing wether to stay in Noxus and try to gain power and rank inside the empire (Rep towards Noxus) or get to the bay and travel towards – idk – Piltover to flee from the brutal reality of the empire (remaining Neutral towards Noxus). Or maybe joining the Ionian resistance to fight its former masters (rep Against Noxus). Again: the player decides.

This would mean a ton of quest-design and world-building, but it would be so unique and replayable that I could finally play a MMORPG again without getting bored.

    ALSO – POWERS
I very much would like to see what you propose for powers: some basic classes with different visuals. With the no-faction approach, you can learn the different moves (aka animations) from one of many masters wich you are neutral or friendly to. So you can maybe mix different styles of animations into one UNIQUE character style. Imagine a bruiser approaching with a Ionian-style tumble, just to disarm an opponent with demacian grace and finally DUNK him Darius-style. That would be rad!

  15. Never been much of a Moba player and never been interested to play Leauge Of Legend it self, but more interested in the lore/story of the game. Excited too see there be a mmo of it, hopefully it will be a potential one.

  16. If it’s 10 factions it wouldn’t be impossible but to action jam packed, if there was a pvp world where the factions have their own stage to compete weekly/monthly tournaments and have a separate co-op/online quest server.
EDIT: The empire and rebellion is the CO-OP/online quest world. The factions is the pvp world.

  17. @Necrit you forgot about Taric he uses heavy armor and has healing magic sooooo…..

i feel like this game needs to take on a Main/Sub job system so you can make those classes more like a Ranged/Magic-assassins or Bruisers and or Supports that dont just heal start us off with basic classes warrior healer ranged assassins and perhaps a more support class and then let us unlock other classes as we grow in lvls that we can learn to use some of that power so main class full power sub class half power so if the cap is 40 your sub class caps at 20 and you learn most of the spells and abilitys

  18. the idea of having fluid classes that change depending on which country you turn to/find a place in and learn from, could be such a dope way to personalize your style :O!!!!!

  19. 32:00 why can't riot just make a quite similar design of class making as final fantasi XIV did. You have the starting class let's say rogue and then as you level up you can choose what specific type of rogue you want to become. Maybe like zed or a typical 2 dagger assassin like katarina. The same would go for mages and also warriors… Specific types like a spear-fighter or axe fighter….
