  1. 9:00 trynd is so absolutely early game skewed that he’s even being picked in pro play decently frequently (which is an environment that inherently values early game more for whatever reason,) despite being absolutely useless late game

  2. I'm still amazed nobody ever mentioned how ridiculous Viego's attack range was, for over half a year he had 225 attack range? How did that go through? No other melee champion came close. Irelia's bs attack range is 200…. AA reliant champs like Jax and Shaco for example have 125 attack range, almost 2 times lower than Viego's…. I don't like how every new champion riot releases has one gimmick packed into an otherwise uninteresting and braindead kit lacking any major weaknesses, that one gimmick supposedly justifying all the bs the newcommers have. They're just babymode 1v9 machines made to sell skins.

  3. Tbh, I'd really apreciate a video fully talking about Shaco's Gameplay and it's place in nowadays meta, as actually he's one of the most tilt-inducing characters, yet one of the most clunky ones as well.

  4. Hey Vars, I got a typical but kinda weird question. I was thinking about Marksmen's balance issues, and their shift for even traditional crit ADCs towards Lethality and Manamune builds lately, and it made me wonder: Was the Marksmen item rework actually successful, or did it miss the point entirely?

Specifically, I was thinking about how Galeforce, Shieldbow, and Kraken Slayer really don't function in their intended role as 'flex pick' items, and wind up harming every other marksman item in the process. There are two sides to that. One is the mythics themselves being super lopsided. You only really skip Galeforce if you don't have a need for the mobility but can use the on-hit on Kraken (which really only applies to Vayne and Kalista, if we're being honest), which is frankly kind of rare. Meanwhile, Shieldbow is more of a melee ADC/Bruiser item than an actual Marksman item, outside of maybe Samira & Graves, who have reasons to scrap.

The second aspect is the 'Marksman' legendary items just kinda suck because they're gated behind building a bunch of them at once. Because while many of them have crit, most don't actually WANT it. Leaving aside the abuses of the latter, I do not think Guinsoos and Navori Quickblades should exist, precisely because they're trying to mask problems that other items have. The Multiple Quicksilver, Executioner, Last Whisper, and to some extent even the Sheen upgrades are an example of this. The crit versions of some items ARE redundant to some degree. There's also the awkward interaction issues with Hydra and Ruannans that do need to be addressed. Just because Zeri's the only one abusing it right now doesn't mean there aren't other champions that can't do it as well (Twitch and Kalista come to mind).

To me, this kind of misses the point of having those particular marksman items be 'choices' in the first place. AP items, for contrast, actually seem to solve this issue fairly well, as the majority of the mythics ARE designed to compliment the ways most mages actually deal damage first, with the only two clear utility picks in Crown (Anti-Burst) and Everfrost (Complimentary CC) seeing highly specific but still quite effective use. In fact Crown sees more use on Marksmen than Mages past a certain level. Meanwhile, their legendary items ARE actually focused on solving specific problems. Even if some (Zhonyas) are just really good, there's still room for adaptation between them.

My thought on how to fix these problems is to lean in on what makes Marksmen items suck by shifting their mythics into a similar 'DPS style first' approach, with Infinity Edge, Guinsoos, and Essence Reaver being moved up to Mythic Status, taking on Critical Strikes, Double Strike, and Spellblade as their mythic passives respectively. Each would be be used to give that 'exponential scaling' we expect, but tailored to so that Shieldbow, Kraken, and Galeforce can move down. Perhaps Trinity Force and Phantom Dancer can be worked into this somehow as well. This way the individual Marksmen items can be injected with more power in their Attack Damage and Attack Speed stats in order to make them useful with any of these mythics, but also allow them to overlap with Bruiser and Lethality items in a more healthy manner. Maybe it's too strong, but I feel like a lot of the reason Marksman are weak is because their items can't ALL be individually strong, or they're overly tailored to crit and non-crit variants. By actually punching those differences out we can instead focus on making more individually worthwhile legendary items. I think accounting for that power budget difference within the mythic passives would actually allow for a lot of useful trimming and honing of the legendary items in the long run.

Rambling aside, I do think you can see that there's potential for a video here still. I'd love to see what you think about the subject whenever it strikes your fancy.

  5. this video just reminded me of a game where we did a full 5v5 level 1 invade fight and our sylas started mid with 4 kills where as they had no kills on us. he then went on to lose lane and end the game 6/11. i logged off after that one

  6. I hate Yone and Akshan for the same to reasons! For how well they scale their early game is just way to safe and unexploitable with free shields and escape/engage tools. To prove it no good akshan player takes a point in W till after laning phase because the only part of the passive that matters early is the 100 free gold.

  7. Idk if I'm late and it's kinda a pointless point but Morgana's q is actually tied for 4th longest hard cc; obviously ashe ukt at 3.5 sec stun, tied for 1st with max power Asol q which also has 3.5 sec stun, followed by Karma's max ult empowered max rank w at 3.25 second root (2 second base plus 1.25 empowered), followed finally with Morg q tied with neekos empowered e with 3 second snares. Though asol and karma are uncommon picks so I blame no one for not having the pointless knowledge I do

  8. Great video as always! love to see this content, always high-effort and well-done.
One minor mistake I noticed-Morgana Q is actually not the second longest CC in the game. That title actually goes to an empowered Karma W, which sits at 3.15 seconds when both abilities are at maximum level. But that's often overlooked because people don't see that many empowered Karma Ws at that late in the game-her E is seen more often.

  9. morgana is the biggest middle finger to any cc, and against a team of champs that mostly have ad damage, well, good luck cc locking that 12/2 darius who just ghosted after your adc and now has 5 passive stacks to now destroy your team and be cc immune while doing it.

  11. I totally agree with Sylas pick here. I didn't pay much attention to him until I got matched against him a couple of times. Now he's a permaban for me if I'm playing mid. Pretty much like Fizz was before because of his broken-ass E.

  12. As an ARAM only player (I know, my opinions don’t count here), I actually don’t mind shaco.

Mostly because he’s really, really bad in ARAM and only his mains even attempt to pick him up, meaning he’s unlikely to be on my team and not usually a problem on the enemy’s. Along with that, shaco players’ legendary toxicity doesn’t translate to ARAM much at all because toxicity is so much lower here in general.

Viego however can burn in hell. A full second of immunity in ARAM with no CD except champion kills is fucking awful to deal with. At least Gwen can be baited. Viego and Pyke are the poster children for “please riot for the love of god bring back ARAM bans”
