Halo Infinite was supposed to have launched alongside the Xbox Series X/S’ launch this year as the flagship launch title of Xbox’s next generation, but Microsoft have also planned an Xbox One release for the shooter. However, it’s possible that the game’s last-gen version might no longer be part of the plan for Microsoft and 343 Industries. Halo Infinite UI at 343 Industries’ LinkedIn profile mentions that he is currently at work on the first person shooter, though interestingly enough, his profile only mentions the Xbox Series X/S and PC as the game’s platforms, with an Xbox One version missing. That does not have to mean anything, of course, and may as well just be a mistake, but with Microsoft having allowed 343 Industries another year of development, it’s possible that plans have internally changed in that time. For what it’s worth, there were reports earlier in the year that suggested that Halo Infinite’s Xbox One version had been cancelled, which was followed promptly afterward by 343 Industries denying those reports. In the absence of any announcements by the developer or publisher to the contrary, Halo Infinite is still scheduled for Xbox One alongside Xbox Series X/S and PC. It will release in Fall 2021. In this video DreamcastGuy does a rant about Xbox Infinite being cancelled on Xbox One, Xbox One S, and Xbox One X possibly.

  1. from the small gameplay they showed, graphic aside, the action was great and its always nice to see a colorful shooter. Halo is the only Ms exclusive i wished Sony could have. Well, that and Forza Horizon ^^'

  2. Nothing official announced, so I highly doubt it. I definitely see this still coming to Xbox One and more so in the same way Half Life 2 came to the original Xbox. The game will have to be broken down into sections that load in separately, compared to the entire world being seamless on the Series X/S.

  3. This would be the right decision. To improve the weak have to be left behind. They cannot produce games with people in mind who cannot afford the upgrade. It slows the evolution of games down. That´s just how it is.

  4. This is a good thing for Halo Infinite. Halo Infinite is supposed to be supported for 10 years so the game shouldn't be held back by the last generation consoles. It has to be fully optimized for the next generation.
