There’s a great video by “Modern Vintage Gamer” that talks about the PS1’s strange graphical style. The TL;DR version is that the PS1 had no floating point calculation engine so all values for polygon placement needed to be fixed integers causing the “wobble” type effect as they switch between two whole numbers.
