Lets play Humankind – Lucy Open Dev #1

Lets play Humankind – Lucy Open Dev

Finally I got my hands on the new Amplitude game: Humankind. We have until December 28th to lead humanity from the stone ages into an advanced civilization. There are all kinds of cultures and ideas to choose from, battles we can have and technologies to research. Please keep in mind, that the state of the game does not represent the final product. It is a Beta and is still under development. The open dev features the first 4 stages of humanities development and I will try to get through all of them. Let’s find out what Humandkind will be capable of if it was us writing its history!

To participate in the open dev Lucy you need to pre-purchase the game and follow the instructions here: https://www.games2gether.com/amplitude-studios/humankind/blogs/749-lucy-opendev-available-now.
I don’t have any partnership with amplitude or a key-store, so I wont provide a direct link to buy the game, nor will I compel you to do that. Just watch my content and decide for yourself if you want to invest.

If you like the game, support Amplitude Studios by buying this game. Such strategy game developing excellence should be rewarded!

  1. Holy Moly! I am so happy you are back and making video's on this game. I used to watch your Endless Legends videos every day until one day you just vanished and I couldn't find out anything about you. I am so glad that you are well and back to making content!

  2. Two possible tips you may have figured out in future episodes. When you click on an army there is a button on the army screen below the troops. Select as many as you like then the button to split stacks. Two in the lower right by the toggle for FICS there is another toggle with three hexagon. Clicking that on then when you select any building it will show you the best place to build it with yields. Can be helpful when you have lots of tiles with similar output of resources.

  3. Some of my comments based on my own play-through:
The tribe/scouts reappear after they are destroyed, so you are not bale to get rid off other AI players in neolithic era, later on, that is a different business 🙂
You can ransack the same turn as you have used all the move points – just need to have enough to move on the tile with sanctuary/lair/outpost etc… The same is valid for siege/attack of cities
In all three "difficulty" levels for this scenario you can safely explore and "milk" the fame till turn 20-25 before moving to the ancient era and then all eras as well. It is actually fun to try and reach maximum of stars each era and maximize the fame on turn 150 (well 149 technically speaking). It seems there are some rules in place that will make that easier for players now…

BTW I was really surprised you got no food from killing the Mammoth! A bug maybe?
