just build a temp workshop near the area you want to build and then destroy it for the LOVE OF GOD
why didn't you just raise the ground level in the water then add the poles instead of messing around with off center garbage?
Use the 2m horizontal beams to edge the walkway of the dock. Then beams/poles going down into the water will have an edge snap point.
If you use them around your fire pit area (floor just barely above the ground) it becomes a blue structural support, nearly every time. Then vertical poles tend to snap "through" to the ground and are also blue structural support.

Some problems mate, 1 you don't need the bench for the building to exist, just need to be in the circle to build, secondly, water functions just like the rain and will destroy those soirees eventually, not sure if water will destroy stone supports though, I haven't tried myself but since rain doesn't destroy roof pieces, maybe you can build them in water as well.
i got randomly a glitch with carrots one of them is unlimmeted somehow i can keep grabbing it. got like 3k carrots atm xD
btw you need a roof to not let them decay, because of the rain it will decay
Won't the rain destroy the floor and posts built exposed for the dock?
Hey you probably won't read this but I think you could snap horizontal beams to the vertical ones and keep going horizontal/vertical?

Nice dock! I used the hoe to raise the terrain under the water. Left the terrain a few feet below the water. Made it easier to place the columns to support the boathouse.
Water there is a lake didn't see any islands when I went on a raft expedition.

With this game, you basically have to build everything literally from the bottom up

you can build your deck that far because you built it on a rock, the rock is acting like a fondation
At the 21 minute mark, try putting a post in like the center of you can make it hit ground so you get enough structural support to do the beams you actually want to put then delete the temporary one, also can you raise the ground in the water to just shallow so you can hop down and get a bit better angle without being deep enough to swim?
