This dual production of the refineries is such a hassle
Skye: I do not know the math on H2 collectors but it is not what you said it was in this video. My gas giant says 0.88/s on the planet overview and it produces 500 H2/min per collector. I have 14 collectors producing over 6900 per minute hydrogen. There is some sort of multiplier on the collectors. Drop down several and you will be swimming in H2.
EDIT: changed from per second to per minute which is how it is reported on stats screen. Also, several were full so updated production numbers.
So what happens if you hit a planet at warp speed? 😀
ive belted every oil seep on the planet to a pole and built a massive refinery in a polar ring i have absolutely no pobs with oil hydro or aroused carbon
you dont have to del belts before upgrading them anymore
just use the u key or the up arrow in hotbar … shift click to upgrade a whole line at once the same for deleting belts
I think people are playing on 2x 3x resource maps. Thats probably why their numbers are higher than yours. Either way, if you make 40 gas collectors you wont have any issues at all.
Gurps and the central casting book was great for that and some cool gear
Great Vid
10 hydrogen a second is 600 a minute, most recipes are per minute. I think it's a lot of hydrogen. But I don't build large scale factories.
You probably can use less belts if you add splitters.
@24:33 discussing the person saying it wasn't realistic due to warp and traveling at light speed. but as per Miguel Alcubierre theories based on Einstien's field equasions in general relativity it is indeed realistic (mind you the only reason why the Alcubierre drive is not currently being used in the real world is due to us not yet finding a source of exotic matter with negative mass). 😀
Tooltip says 12x gathering speed
Thanks for the shout out. I am sitting here yelling at the VOD on how to set it up 😉
Cant believe how much of the planet you haven't paved by this time. more hours in your current game than me my planet is a full concrete working on my second lol
35:55: There is a mod that allows you to do exactly that.
2:05:15 Skye: "2 hours, and I'm about to start building something. Is that a new record?"
Everyone who has ever watched Skye's Live Streams: (*In unison, with Corpsehatch singing harmonies*) "Not even close."
Loved watching your content but you really need to muzzle that hyena
@Skye Storm If you hold down Shift while upgrading your belts it does the whole length in one click
Im sure its been discovered and or mentioned already but i found out that holding down "w" in sail mode allows you to control flight with the mouse instead of usng the arrow keys.
Hey Skye I was just watching one of Biffa’s DSP videos and spotted that the Orbital Collectors have a ‘Gathering Speed’ of “9.6x”. Now I’ve not played the game but I’d assume that means that if a gas giant had a Collectable amount of 0.25/s then you’d actually be getting 0.25*9.6=2.4/s per collector
One thing you can put in one of your tips vids: when looking for a specific system in the cluster map, position the camera so that Icarus is covering the star, then it'll be centered when exiting the cluster map.
Edit: commenting 2 days after stream was posted on youtube, so maybe it's been mentioned already.
I don't understand why hydrogen is so hard to get in DSP. I mean back in the elementary school in the 80's. I did a science fair project on electrolysis with a nine volt battery. It would be power intensive to make a lot of hydrogen gas then cool down to a liquid but well within the tech range of someone able to fly between stars and "warp". Just run a lot of electricity through ocean water and you get Hydrogen, Oxygen, and waste salts and solids.
OC-REEEEEEEEEEE. strikes again lol
I was part of the "36 orbital collector" group in the chat but I checked again and my ice giant accepts 40 collectors…
