  1. As stated in Mandalores video Comments
The thing about making the xeno machines that are the Necrons talk in English. In contrast of how inhuman and actually more Alien the "Humans" act, speak and interact its pretty neat.

  2. Mando misjudged the melee class a bit. It is much weaker in raw damage than shooty class, but its real value lies in being able to prevent enemies from firing by getting into melee with them, as well as being great all around assist guy with insane movement speed.

    Xcom
The grandaddy of this type of game
    From the original

To the sequel that was made too hard on accident (read: the original had a bug where when you loaded a save dificulty would default to easy, people complained the hardest dificulty was too easy… So devs went and made the sequels easiest dificulty harder than the hardest dificulty of the first)

To the super weird and yet amazing third game where you are defending a giant cyberpunkish city while dealing with corps, cultists and bullshit
And eventually turn shit around and go invade the alien word yourself.

TO the many craptastic spin offs (third person shooter or wing commander rip off, anyone?)

To the universally loved and amazingly good reboot… Unless youre a whiny tryhard who cant stand the fact they modernized and streamlined the game.

To the mind numbing ammount of spiritual sequels
Of which the only halfway good ones are the ufo afterblank series (because they do their own thing with real time combat)
And maaaybe xenonauts… Which feels like classic xcom with the serial numbers filed off and dumb grognard-ey elements raised up to 11
Edit: cant believe i forgot to.mention phoenix point
Aka the xcom spiritual sequel made by the original creator of the franchise
A game that all but sold itself as being the "real" follow up to xcom instead of the streamlined reboot series… And then prpceeded to burn all its goodwill by going epic exclusive despite the crowdfunding promising a steam release…
And the game itself being a poorly thought out, poorly balanced chimera of a mess that has about one or two original elements to it
The entire rest taken straight from the xcom reboots it subtly tried to put down as inferior, or taken wholesale from other spiritual sucessors that came before (in particular, a LOT from the UFO afterblank series)

  4. You know I got to talk to one of the devs from this game for a little bit and they cry every time someone says this is just 40k Xcom…..you monster. But really you would think people would not try to steal stuff from the race of people with time and dimension manipulation teach. Also necrons have the best sniper rifle ever.
