  1. This is the type of game quality Next-gen needs consistently! Seems like this developer is one of the rare examples of a developer trying to equally divide the advantages of each console. More developers should follow suit.

  2. I tried Metro Exodus because the graphics looked atmospheric and really good , reminded me of STALKER. Unfortunately the gameplay felt very stiff and just not mechanically fun.
I may try to play further , but so far It's a case of visuals over substance. The weapons themselves sound great It's just the stiff controls and execution that I don't like.

  3. "People may be making jokes about the tools getting better here – but I have heard that build performance has indeed improved over time since launch on XSX. GPU Compiler and Stuff can be pretty important for GPU Performance!" -Alex Battaglia

DF mentioned before the consoles launched that there will be some short term hurdles for the series X/S due to xbox switching to new dev tools and the ps5 dev kits being in the hands of developers for much longer. They also said that the switch to GDK from SDK will benefit xbox in the long term.

  5. On 2nd play through og campaign, played through both dlc will definitely be revisiting for the update. As for 4A 👏 they are simply tapping into each platforms capabilities with a game as taxing as Metro Exodus I hope other devs follow suit!

  7. Ray tracing is cool but it sucks thats all the new features they added. xbox x and ps5 were huge let downs in my opinion. Ray tracing and hardly any new good games, not to mention xbox didn't even update their controller besides making it 10 percent smaller. yawn.

  9. 4A Games says "The RAM is not an issue for us (currently), but GPU performance presents challenges for future titles. Our current renderer is designed for high spatial and temporal resolution (read: 4K @ 60 fps). It is stochastic by nature. Dropping any of those would require us to do more expensive calculations dropping performance even further. We have a compromise solution right now, but I am not satisfied with it yet." so Series S is the worst console ever made!

  10. Here’s The Absolute Truth Whether Pc guys wanna accept it or not it’s still the Reality !

These New Consoles Will Perform in the Rtx 3060ti / 3070 range once they’re fully taken advantage of as devs haven’t even started to push these new system’s anywhere near their full graphics, and performance capabilities as all these cross Gen games, and backwards compatible enhanced titles, etc aren’t taking full advantage of the new hardware !

The fact is game consoles are closed loop systems with ultra low level to the metal graphics Api, and deep console level developer optimizations which push these machines far above their weight in comparing to equivalent paper spec Pc’s, and then add in the additional performance of actually making full usage of the New RDNA 2 architecture along with the New dlss type super resolution that’s almost ready, and will be fully implemented with both New Consoles, and then the Xbox Series X especially with the full RDNA 2 features such as variable rate shading, etc plus the Xbox Series X has true dedicated Ray Tracing cores baked into its silicon which aren’t yet being utilized properly or fully, and again we’re not gonna see anywhere near the maximum potential until True Next Gen Game’s are guilty from the ground up, and specifically optimized to take full advantage of the New Consoles as that’s when we’ll start to see The Xbox Series X pushing no less than Rtx 3070 levels, and the PlayStation 5 will be pushing around Rtx 3060 ti levels although the PS5 won’t match the Ray Tracing performance though simply because it doesn’t have the same true dedicated Ray Tracing cores like the Xbox Series X/S !

Basically these Consoles haven’t even started to scratch the surface of what they’re truly capable of but we’ll start to see them push strong in the next 12 to 18 month’s as Consoles never perform or show their power, and performance capabilities at or near launch as they get better, and better as they age, and get new software tools, and devs start to learn how to maximize their hardware !

  11. I am so glad this is coming out because this game on pc with ray tracing enabled likes to crash a ton. For awhile i thought they might never fix the crashing and performance problems with Dx12 and ray tracing. So i am excited to be able to play this game with a super solid fps on max settings.

  12. 4A Games Chief Technical Officer, Oleksandr Shyshkovtsov had this to say about the Series S; "The RAM is not an issue for us (currently), but GPU performance presents challenges for future titles. Our current renderer is designed for high spatial and temporal resolution (read: 4K @ 60 fps). It is stochastic by nature. Dropping any of those would require us to do more expensive calculations dropping performance even further. We have a compromise solution right now, but I am not satisfied with it yet." The Series S will be a interesting console to see if it becomes a headache for developers. I hope note as we already have enough buggy and unfinished games. The last thing Series X, PS5 and high end PC gamers would want is for developers to have to spend more resources trying to get the Series S to run at a acceptable resolution and frame rate.

  13. I doubt Metro Exodus will run at native 4k on the Series X or PS5. It will probably be dynamic 4k. But if this game does run at native 4k on lets say the Series X then it will prove the power of his console.
