  1. After RE2 remake I thought the series was headed in the right direction but this bs meme, annabel, modern horror crap made me pass this one. Oh and why do all the bosses talk for some reason? Did anybody notice that? Terrible dialogue ruined the tone.

  3. I'm just now playing on hardcore as a pretty loyal fan to the series but it makes so much sense to start at standard for me at least but either way been loving it and your my favorite person to go to for resident evil content

  4. I don't understand docking points on how hard a game is in the beginning when you started out on the highest difficulty without ever playing a single second of it.

That's like lighting yourself on fire and playing checkers, then going, "Okay this game sucks."

  5. I have been a lifelong resident evil fan – since around 2002 with the release of REmake. that being said, I absolutely hated Resident Evil 7. I can’t stand it. it’s a game laden with jump scares meant more for Let’s Play-ers and their audiences than actual RE fans. Ethan is a cookie-cutter everyman hero spouting one-liners like his life depends on them.

I could not have a more diametrically opposite opinion of Resident Evil 8. I loved it, and as Max said, they made me give a shit. I’m crazy excited about where Capcom is taking the story – the implications of Village for the overall Lore and the connections to the series at large are significant and coherent, unlike in 7. it was a tight, fast-paced thriller of a game that captivated me for the 11 hours I spent on my first play through, and I had an absolute blast with it.

Ethan was given some great development and grew into his own character. Rose is dope as hell. I hope she’s a character in the next game, but we need Chris, Jill or Claire as the playable hero for the next game.

  6. Had a friend who started RE8 on Hardcore and got totally stuck. He came over and asked me to play that part so he could see what he's doing wrong. Even I, who have beaten the game a few times now, had a weird time with it. It'd be better if the cutscene triggered when your HP reached 0 like an unwinnable tutorial fight.

  7. So, is this a honeymoon phase or something? It is astonishing how people suddenly forgot all the glaring mistakes that made RE5 and RE6 a very bad Resident Evil games. Village made RE6 look like a real life simulator. What is this? Vampires, dragons, ghosts, immortality, transformers, possessed dolls, witches, terminators, metal gear, call of duty, castlevania, werewolves, voodoo, magic power nonsense, etc. etc. etc.??? (I know, it is explained in-game that there is no supernatural, but those "explanations" are just an excuse to include these unsuitable, corny, cliche BS). It is not just the fact that this game is more action-oriented than it suits Resident Evil, but also: Indescribably cheesy, corny, unsuitable, flat out bad and ridiculously over the top STORY and plot-twists; Ridiculously over the top action gameplay moments, even for a mistake that is an action oriented Resident Evil (which are a lot, with last sections being full-blown Call of Duty and Metal Gear-like moments and experiences) and cutscenes; Also, very unrealistic, unbelievable, cheesy and extremely cartoony villains, dialogues and moments, utterly dismantled the overall experience of Resident Evil Village for me. I have a question: What happened to that "We are returning to the survival horror roots," Capcom? This franchise is an UTTER mess and it doesn't know what it wants to be anymore. Also, puzzles were laughably easy and could have been solved by a 4 year old, there is no challenge, whatsoever. Sadly, I don't think this series has any hope, until (if) Shinji Mikami comes back. Yeah, so much for "returning the series to the survival horror roots," what a joke. The saddest part is, all of this is cannon, too, so the lore of Resident Evil is ruined, even fairy tales and ultimate fantasies are believable compared to what this game has become. Resident Evil Village is not a Resident Evil game and from now on, I am not giving this franchise any more chances until a full reboot or something drastic happens.

  8. I'm sorry but playing the first part on hardcore when you don't know what you're doing is sort of self sabotage. I mean he started fighting with a knife 😂. It reminds me of Res 5 the beginning you don't have a great deal of ammo and if you don't know what you doing you will die. Especially on Harder modes.

  9. I love this game but I have only 2 criticisms, personal ones at that to be fair. Firstly the bosses feel like just big damage sponges with spectacle, which to be fair is similar to some fights in previous RE's but older games also had bosses you needed to figure out. To me it feels like a bit of a step down.

Lastly, whole story would've changed if chris just SAID SOMETHING TO ETHAN. Boulder punching asshole…

Otherwise I adore this game lol I'm on my 4th playthrough trying to get infinite ammo with everything lol

  10. I still can't believe that village and the area around it is where Spencer got the idea for umbrella and the virus in Africa he could be talking about Re5.
