    Konami – Wouldn't make any sense. Konami Gaming makes a brunt of the money, and they've been doing well with sales, in the casino machines and software (with share revenue per machine).

    SEGA – also doesn't make as much sense. While CoVid hurt the arcade division, there's other revenue streams that have kept SegaSammy afloat.

    Nice rumors. But not likely.

  7. Does rich know that Xbox is pretty hands off with their companies after learning there mistakes with rare? They are basically under a umbrella where the have unlimited funds and have all access with Microsoft IPs

  9. Japanese buys japanese,..and there going handheld.. playstation isn't selling well their..

    But if Xbox hats devs that make games the japanese love..+xcloud they can have success there…

  10. The only way Microsoft can appeal to the Japanese consumers is by making a gaming handheld. Mobile gaming is much more popular in Japan than ever, not just the Switch but actual mobile games.

  11. Honestly acquiring these studios isn't remotely interesting as neither publisher puts out AAA games. The IP on the other hand could be good to own though. A much better acquisition would have been Kojima Productions, Square, or a company that puts out higher caliber games

  12. they just need the fucking jrpgs and weeb games. even if they invested something in the 360 days these games didnt do well anywhere. rich you dont know anything about weebs. i cant see sony doing anything well japan related. ms would do way better imo.

  20. Msft will never buy konami . It will be either sony or konami simply won't sell . Same thing with sega . Anyone thinking Konami or sega will sell to a company like msft are severely delusional and beyond help .

  21. They are doing it for gamepass ultimate. Being able to play a new triple A Castlevania on a phone via xcloud for $15 a month would be appealing. Mobile is king there and they have the internet infrastructure to make game streaming viable.

  25. Microsoft would not buy both of the studios and even consider the Japanese market. It’s clear that the Japanese market will never embrace Microsoft. I remember as a child I was a fan boy Nintendo all the way then the PlayStation came out it was Sony all the way ironically now I find myself with Microsoft this current generation but when I was on one side I never crossed over until something monumental happened. In Japan it’s 10x worse. Japanese gamers will never embrace a video game system made in America. The same is true for American cars. Now there are two reasons behind the American car thing but video games they just want to support the American publisher it’s almost a nationalist point of view.

    Know if you notice I never said Microsoft may not buy the studios but I can remind them to capture the Japanese market if they even do by the studios I didn’t see any strong evidence in that video to indicate they would. Microsoft just thinking long-term they aren’t looking at video game systems they are looking at video game services. They are looking to populate the market with Game pass as a service. They can already read the tea leaves. Sony does not have the capital to compete with Microsoft so overtime they will just drown them in better features and eventually Sony won’t be able to keep up. Just imagine if Microsoft had created a better system and priced it at $500 something that was truly a step ahead of Sony they can do that because they have money just lying around. They can actually afford to create a service like game pass because again they can afford to take a loss game pass is in the red not the black so many can’t do anything like this. Nintendo is different Nintendo doesn’t care they don’t care about their online services really they’re going to do just enough to keep the public from abandoning them and they will continue to release their flag ship series. Here is the catch Nintendo will not be able to continue to produce great systems. They’ve caught lightning in a bottle twice. If you go back and look at Nintendo‘s history sales were steadily declining as they continued from one generation to the next. The only time sales truly popped Nintendo did something radical. They succeeded twice they failed once. Now here is the problem what happens when they aren’t successful two times in a row remember after the Wii U that was real consideration about Nintendo going bankrupt. The word was if the next system did not do extremely well they would have to do something extreme like become a third-party publisher. Eventually that will happen they won’t keep getting lucky and when they do guess what they will only be two major system manufacturerss. One of which will be offering video games as a service the other will be trying to find money to keep up. Think about it it’s sunny really prepared for a truly digital streaming future no. Right now if suddenly the technology existed to stream video games no problem so he wouldn’t know what to do Microsoft will say he will stream games on game pass. Sony would literally have to rethink its entire business model. Wait a minute we already know the future is going to be streaming and Sony can’t redo its business model.
