THE WILD UPDATE IS COMING
Experience the greater outdoors on June 7
Explorers, adventurers, mud enthusiasts – lend me your ears! The moment we’ve all been waiting for since its announcement at Minecraft Live 2021 is almost here. The Wild Update will be both beautifying and terrifying the Overworld on June 7, so start compiling a list of all the stuff you’re going to pack in your boat’s chest!

The Wild Update will add new biomes, mobs, and blocks to Minecraft. There is going to be so much to explore, so let’s take a look at what’s coming so we can plan our first expedition accordingly.

The Overworld is getting two brand new biomes – the deep dark and the mangrove swamp. The deep dark lies far below the surface. To get there, find the base of a cave and start digging (not straight) down. Keep your eyes but mainly your ears peeled. One of the many remarkable things about this biome is how silent it is. That is, until you set off a shrieker. Don’t worry, the name is misleading! If you trigger it, you can expect sweet nothings to be whispered into your ears. Dear reader, I am lying again! If you set off a shrieker, you have until the fourth shriek to get out of there unless you want to come face to face with the only mob that dwells in the deep dark. But before you go, don’t forget to use silk touch to mine some of the other forms of sculk blocks that are only found in this very scary biome.

If horror isn’t your cup of tea, why not retreat to the safety of the mangrove swamp? Unless you hate trees with big roots. In which case, you might want to move on because these swamps are full of just that, namely mangrove trees. As majestic as they are magnificent, they aren’t just decorative but also bring a new type of wood to build with alongside the new mud block! You can craft this natural resource using two of my favorite things: dirt and water. Speaking of water, if you want to head out on a big body of it, you can set sail in a boat with a chest! Fill it with whatever your expedition calls for, whether it’s adventure gear, exploration supplies, or all the cakes you can carry.

This update also brings three new mobs! Are you ready to meet the warden? I’m not! But for those that want to tackle a challenge unlike any they’ve ever seen, you will find this creature in the deep dark. Stealth is the key to getting out of there in one piece, so stay sneaky!

Another mob that is joining us is one that arrives by special invitation! The allay was voted into the game during last year’s Minecraft Live. This blue beauty is ready to fly through the game, help you collect items, and dance at the drop of a note block beat!

The third mob is one that a lot of us have been waiting for a long time – the frog! Not only is it adorable, but it creates beautiful froglight block if it attacks magma cubes. That is impressive on so many levels. But it you want to give your frog something safer, you can feed it tiny slimes!

Now that the frog math is all squared away, we can get back to planning which path into the wilderness we’re going to take first. The Wild Update will be available to download on June 7 for for Minecraft: Bedrock Edition on Xbox , PlayStation, Nintendo Switch,  iOS,  Android, and  Windows – and Minecraft: Java Edition on Windows,  macOS,  and Linux. You’ll find me at sea diving headfirst into a chest full of cake, but in the spirit of the wild – to each their own!

  2. I think it would be so cool if they added a new dimension. Don't get me wrong I loved minecraft as a kid and I still do but it's needs a refresher not small updates. Adding a new dimension and a new boss will really refresh things

  3. Hi Stealth! My theory is that the ancient city was built long before the illagers by another group (although I don't know what), and that the reason there is the dark oak and other illager related blocks is because the illagers discovered the ancient cities and were trying to figure out what they were. That's why it looks like a lot of the illager related blocks / structures are almost built on top of the original cities. That's just my theory for now though. : )

  4. When I say it's not going to be a portal, I don't mean to say I'm against the idea of a new dimension I'm actually open to the idea, what I am saying though is that the dimension will only be added after the current dimensions are updated, meaning we still need The End update. Only then after the end update comes, then they will add the new dimension, so stop saying it'll be added before the end update

  5. Also I have to disagree with you on illagers being the ones responsible for the ancient cities, have you forgotten that The ancient builders existed in the past, they could have been the ones responsible, as they are with all the other old structures in the game

  6. Alright hmmm yeah I don’t know. The dark oak is a maybe. That could be a small tie to the illagers but that section doesn’t feel coherent with the rest of the structure. Also not sure about the towers. I mean we can’t really say that everything tower like is tied to the illagers. Imma have to leave it up in the air still.

  7. In my opinion, I think the Illagers discovered the Deep Dark Cities long after they were abandoned because the pre-existing structures are in ruin and it looks like they built structures on top of the old ones also the color of Wool that they used is found exclusively in Woodland Mansions they have a whole room dedicated to blue wool, Do I think that the Illagers were in the cities at one time yes, do I think they built them, no I think the Race of Ancient Builders built them and constructed the Reinforced Deepslate portal as a way to escape the overworld due to the Extinction Event which explains why the cities are underground they were hiding from something on the surface, and they lived in those cities conducting their experiments that created the Portal where the Warden and Sculk originated from and it killed the ancient builders off and their souls are now trapped in the Fire/Lanterns still hanging in the city.

  8. I do t think the illagers or villagers wouldn't have the technology to do all of this, and I don't think illagers would be I ot this stuff, all they seem to care about is the end portal, which they have made out of wood, The Game Theorist made a vid explaining why, but I think the ancient cities existed way before the illagers and villagers, the people living here and in my theory, they found out about this other place, this other world, nothing but spirits
wander it, they wanted to see if they could get more connected to it, so they built the portal(I'm still not sure if it is a portal, but for this theory I'll say it is) and with so many fails and attempts, they finally were successful, but it closed shortly but something came through, and with a white flash lasting for 0.1 seconds, it found the sculk, and with the sculk, it took on it's pure form, blind, but strong, heading your every movement, it wouldn't hesitate to attack, and for my personal take on the warden, the people who died in the sculk and the souls in the sculk and the catylast, it makes the warden strong, more souls it gains, the more powerful it becomes, so for the people who thought were successful, they never saw the city again, but pure darkness in the warden. It's a theory that I still need to work on, but I think it's alright, I just don't think illagers we're the ones to do it, the wood could just be there, constructed by an ancient builder who likes the wood, they just don't seem to do that, they're more into killing their former allies who were considered family, the evoker cares about the magic of the vex more than anything………..

  9. Seems this might be a Common Theory, I don't think the Illagers Built the Ancient Cities, but rather discovered it later on and repaired stuff with Dark Oak.
As for who did build the Ancient Cities, I think the Song "Ancestry" which (if I'm not mistaken) plays in the Deep Dark, may hint towards that. Whoever existed before, "Pre-Apocalypse" you might say, are probably related to the Player in some way, and they are likely who built the Ancient Cities. (as well as many of the other Old Structures found throughout the World)

  10. At around the 25 second mark in disk 5 you can hear metal clashing so maybe it's the sound of iron equipment clashing so maybe the army of this city was trying to defeat the Warden or explore and travel to the other side of that portal but they never returned and just helped in the spreading of the sculk.

  11. My theory is that the warden is probably terrified or afraid of a more dangerous enemy on the other side of the portal. The warden is trying to make sure the stronger enemy stays on the other side and not reach the overworld.

  12. I feel like the Allay Warden Deep Dark biome Sculk blocks and Ancient need to be topics that Matpat needs to talk about cause I think those features have some importance to the Ancient Builders from Matpats minecraft theory series

  13. Is it possible for bundles, opening and closing spore blossoms, a new wood type for azalea trees and copper goat horns to be added to the 1.19.2 update for Java Edition and the 1.19.30 update for Bedrock Edition followed by archeology, illusioner and iceologer being added to the 1.19.4 update for Java Edition and the 1.19.60 update for Bedrock Edition followed by the crowing being fully finished for Java Edition and Bedrock Edition for the 1.19.5 update for Java Edition and the 1.19.70 update for Bedrock Edition followed by the 1.20 update being the birch forest, desert and savanna updates that also finishes up the dripstone caves and adds meadow villages and fireflies?

  14. I disagree I think the warden is from the overwold because he's made from xp just like sculk. I think there was ancient builders a long time ago and a war happened and everyone died which would account for sculk/warden this war could have been triggered from the portal opening and something coming. in disc 5 in the beginning you can hear a army marching which would make sense and I believe illagers came after the fact and if you pair it with matpats/game theories videos you can tell they were experimenting with life and death.

  15. Personally, I think the Illagers came later, and that the original inhabitants of the Ancient City created and lived alongside the Sculk(based on the gray wool built into the pathways and the sculk sensors built into the lights in front of city center), and used the Sculk as a means of harvesting souls so they could use the portal in the city center to create their own dimension.

  16. I think you are on to something with the illigers building the ancient city. Looking at it, the layout reminds me of a woodland mansion. Maybe the illigers are an underground variant of the villagers beu were forced above ground by the warden.

  17. Here is my theory: I think back in the past the warden actually did use to protect villagers, and of course explorers. Then one of the explorers wanted to do try something that resulted in them opening up the portal and getting a jumpscare because of a sculk themed monster that is very similar to the warden but 10x more powerful that came out of the portal and ate everyone in the civilization which is why the warden is the only thing living there.

  18. I dont know the discord server but imma do it anyways maybe the ancient builders built the ancient city and the sculk appear out of nowhere(just like the corrption in terraria but using death to spread) also this is my lore theory also disc 5 maybe there was a civilizaition idk ask matpat or other theorists its my take on the lore also this is my first time getting a dlc i dont have minecoins

  19. I think that there is some ties with 1.19 and the illagers. Goat horns are in pillager outposts, and the allay is a prisoner in the mansion and outpost as well. I would not rule out ties to ancient cities.

  20. We definitely know that the warden is not a single being but multiple beings but in a single vessel/body we know this due to souls in his chest and the fact that parts of the warden's body is made from the sculk and the sculk family is connected to the dead
(if you look in the sculk catalyst video how the zombie turned to sculk after dying near the sculk catalyst proving that the sculk is any dead being/mob) and the illagers might of discovered something that we couldn't but something happened in the 4th dimension that caused all of this
So if I had to put conspiracy cap on about this 4th dimension I would say this 4th dimension is a very dark (due to him being blind) sculk like (due to the amount of sculk in the ancient city) and dead like dimension (due to fact that the warden is multiple beings trapped in a single/vessel body and the sculk family is connected to the dead and potentially some structures similar to the ancient city which would link back to the ancient city) but that's theory on the 4th dimension I could be wrong but it's my logic behind the 4th dimension
