  1. Literally think this was done because of me. I was so close to buying minecraft for my computer the other day and then I realized I have no idea which version to get. So I just held off. Now this news is out, and I think it was Mojang saying "We gotchu."

  3. I got these alerts in my launcher saying that because I own Java I'm getting Bedrock as a bonus, and on Bedrock it says the same.
So am I going to have an extra key for Bedrock and Java?!
I got Bedrock for free back when Bedrock was the Windows 10 Beta.

  4. All Java needs to be the objectively superior choice is the ability to bridge blocks in front of you without crouching over the edge. That's the one thing Bedrock has had all this time that I've wanted for Java.

  6. i think a total merge is a bad idea. there are things unique to each edition that would ´piss off half the playerbase if you changed.

like for example the combat, im a java player, and if you put me on the bedrock combat where its literally minecraft: clicker edition id be very angry, and likely same for a bedrock player coming to java.

redstone is another complicated matter, java has a ton of quirks that bedrock doesnt, javas redstone is weird and inconsistent, but many of these glitches are used by redstone players, likewise bedrock's redstone is clean and consistent, but lacks a lot of the quirks java players got used to.

the best thing they can do is focus on parity for certain features, then introduce a official version of geyser, even if its just bedrock on java servers.
but it would be better if the server you join is what dictates the rules you follow, if you join a bedrock server even as a java player you follow bedrock rules, and vice -versa
