In today’s video we look at weapon customisation in EFT. Using the modding menu, we can create the exact builds that we want much more easily, but there are some tricks and key concepts to know at the beginner and intermediate level.
There is a lot of potential ground to cover, so in this guide we’ll be explaining the weapon stats and how they influence our decisions to build weapons in certain ways, the general philosophy behind creating efficient builds and some optimal attachments to be aware of that are useful across many different weapons.
The various Assault Rifles in the game (primarily with the AK and M4) typically offer the highest level of customisation, so generally modding focuses on these but there are other weapons that we will touch on too, such as the SVD.

What's your best bang for buck mod in 12.12?
This was super helpful, I normally just mess about and put whatever looks best on guns…!
For 5.56mm, why not recommend trying out the ak-101 and ak-102 this wipe? It's a sleeper weapon right now considering m4s are harder to control. The reduced firerate makes it feel like shooting 5.45 AKs just with 5.56 ammo which is objectively better currently in mid-wipe. Only drawback I can think of is only 30 round mags.
Edit: It's relatively accessible under mechanic lv2/3 with crafted m856a1 ( or m855a1 from skier lv4 ) is much better than using BTs with lesser flesh damage and fragmentation chance too 🙂

As this is my first wipe, I found guide is very helpful for me. I will no longer be braindead in modding my weapons.
Mr.Beef do you have any videos on just being able to see people better? In a raid this morning and went to check it out. Thought I had good cover. Couldn't see anyone and started getting smoked. This is my first wipe so maybe it's just not knowing likely player positions yet?

I think in 12.12 the only reasonably priced full auto 5,56 is scar
it feels like ump, and its around 50-60k on flea
I put random grip, random eotech, and NT-4 short-barreled version, or decent compensator if its long-barreled version

Also something to be said for using best ammo possible with semi auto … and not needing as much recoil control. Ergo still matters when you need to ADS in medium range engagements. Meet a Chad and you still need to quickly line up headshot
The modding screen really needs a toggle button to make it so that the only attachments you see are ones that are able to be equipped at that moment. When I put on a certain barrel, I should be able to make it so that I can only see handguards that can attach onto said barrel.

How do those 20 round m4 mags work out? never tried, they kinda tempting especially with new recoil
To my mind the described process is to some extent akin to putting the horse before the cart, so to speak. You need to know first and foremost what do you need the gun for and how would you like to use it. Having established the context you can easily see whether you need to use a silencer, what sort of optic do you need, how big of a magazine you'd like to use and how much premium would you put on recoil control. Having all that in mind you can actually start to build a gun.
Back to the roots, but with veteran tips too? You spoil us! Can say that the two tips regarding buying parts and assembling the gun are truly appreciated.

What are the go to suppressors? What is top of the line, second best and best bang for buck? Adding suppressors and muzzle for them is where I’ve been getting confused.
Just a tip here- if you really wanna play this M4 build u mention in the end, and u plan to really play on single tapping, just stay to the Adar since it has way less initial kick to its shots than the M4. i played a lot of ADAR recently modded like an M4, is hella fun i can tell. try it, you will see what i mean if u really plan to play on single tap

Hello Gigabeef, everyone here.
Just an addendum to your info about AKs, theyve added a muzzle adapter for 7.62×39 to allow .308 muzzle devices so you can kinda apply the similar recoil reductions with muzzle brakes and suppressors, as well as the fact the AK-101 can use the same muzzle devices as M4s

The 12.12 recoil changes have been very, very good at making people use semi vs full-auto much more realistically. It's pretty great.

On the M4's and Adars and TX-15's I don't see people ever mention the receivers. I just found out you can swap them out and get some serious ergo or recoil decreases.

I genuinely feel that the way muzzle attachments work on bullpups needs to be changed. The same compensator should give similar recoil reduction on both bullpup and traditional rifles.
