Mojang is burning down. (Minecraft Ban/Report System)

Mojang decided they could ban anyone that broke their rules. Players don’t like that.

  1. Updates:
Mojang has updated the report system, and several of the report categories are either removed or refined, so it's less overbearing (though still counts as such, in my opinion).
Mojang has confirmed that a ban will affect all versions of Minecraft. This means if you get banned on 1.19, you will be banned from all of Minecraft, but you likely cannot be banned on an older version due to the lack of a reporting system.
Mojang is currently working on a system to mark chat messages as "secure", "unsecure" or "modified", based on the cryptographic signatures of the text. This is presumably to fight against mods like No Chat Reports, which modify or remove these signatures.

  2. If you manage to bot ban report mojang employees accounts or big name minecraft youtubers then the system should go away, unless they decided to straight up give themselves ban immunity and at that point we should protest heavily

  3. I have many question. what about mods? Do mods that put in blood get banned or do the players do? What about customs map download that has a character cursing. Heck what happens when you update a normal server and a sword just happened to be named sex.

Bedrock I get, have to please console company, but jave has WAY to many factors to actually make a functioning filter.

  4. Just to comfort you that don’t play on Xbox if Minecraft is implementing a report system similarly based off of Xbox’s reporting system nothings gonna fucking happen not even false bans Xbox’s report system is shit and you only get banned for some really damning shit nobody has ever gotten banned off of anything that there wasn’t proof of so false bans aren’t going to happen

  5. Being banned from your own singleplayer worlds. That's like if Lego doesn't like the way you played at a friend's house, so they steal back your legos. And don't give back your money. This is outrageous. [Edit] I think they fixed this but I'm not sure.

  6. yep. not going past 1.19.0 until that report function is actually made for an audience older than what MS thinks this game has. It's stupid and unnecessary to force an audience who's mostly in the teens to adult range to follow rules meant for really young children.

There's a reason why throughout Minecraft's lifetime, the game's referred to as "Legos for Men"; and why the first builds you often see are the funky sand statues with pink wool at the top.

  7. Players need to do something drastic, and fast. Because one something like this is implemented, it's not going to be removed unless Microsoft faces consequences. We can band together snd cause significant financial losses for Microsoft by boycotting their products or something.

  8. You shouldn't be able to be banned entirely from online multiplayer
Considering you should still be able to host your own server and shouldn't be able to be banned from your own server

  9. As anything that gets bought off it becomes a husk and a souless shell of what it used to be. Minecraft because of Microsoft will become like YouTube, Twitter and Twitch, etc. Because saying to another adult to go f themselves or calling him the f word or n word will make you lose your game access

  10. How about letting people moderate their worlds themselves? Maybe add a permission system, similar to Bedrock? I feel like Mojang is sticking their noses in places where they don't really need to.
I can tell you, some of the things I did on Java before I switched to Bedrock because of performance issues, would get me banned today. And it was all just messing around with friends while we were doing a little trolling on eachother. Building swastikas on a pole and calling it windmills (We have a pretty extraordinary sense of humor i know), awful attempts at roasting, being angry over having a bad day at work or school, and just generally fake insults we hurl at each other that we just laugh off.

I'm telling you, depending on how strictly these rules will be enforced, most of Java's playerbase will play on older versions, and Bedrock's playerbase will eventually stagnate or become so sterilized and kid-friendly, that only young kids, that are being parented by their tablets instead of their lazy ass parents will play it.

  11. I can't play any version past 1.16.5, as it requires Java 16, and I can only download Java 8. And 1.16.5 already has a OK performance, 1.17+ likely poor performance.
My private servers are on modded 1.16.5, so this shouldn't affect us.

  12. if this was implemented in roblox, id close one eye since its free. Minecraft is a paid game therefore i deserve to consume as much content of what this game offers including multi. this rules enforcements should just be done within servers or realm itself

  13. This is either gonna be completly overworked by mojang BIG time.
Because phrases such as "jap" are getting banned, also "japan" is impossible to type… they NEED to redo it or minecraft is actualy gonna die

  14. I'm a bedrock player and I own a realm and when this pre release for java came out it hit bedrock edition as well because previously no one in my realm had any issues but recently one of my members was banned followed by me getting banned. No one reported anyone as we're all 21+, so it was an auto report. I consider this an invasion of privacy as Microsoft is banning players for basic shit they say in chat and it's absolutely stupid. I've emailed a support team and they all say the same stupid shit like it's justified that we ban players for violating community guidelines. I gave them ideas like hey don't outright ban people but give them a simple fucking warning or have server owners disable this feature since c'mon 10 player realms? I think we can manage that. They all ignored me and it just left a sour taste in my mouth where I don't wish to continue a realm subscription where I'm paying monthly only for me to get banned off my own realm

  15. The other thing I’m worried about that isn’t context is typos. I don’t think I need to explain how this can happen, but if someone’s just chatting with their friend and makes a typo then gets banned, that worries me a lot.

  16. I’m a teen player, never had a pc I been always playing bedrock and I can confirm bedrock chat is barely used and this will absolutely not affect me as I don’t use chat. If I wanna talk I chat on discord but it’s much easier to type on pc which explains why this is bad for java players, mojang fix ur game
