Mortal Kombat A movie I wanted to like, much like Godzilla vs kong you only want to see scorpion fight sub-zero everything else is pointless filler

I went in excited and hoping to love it. I was left disappointed. Just more of the same BS directors shitting their own fanfic all over everything. The new character was the worst part. They said they wanted an Asian lead… Liu Kang? Kung Lao? Instead we got discount Asian Black Panther.

I watched the first 30 minutes and turned it off. Acting is horrible. Didn't care about any of the characters. The Outworld is abandoned strip mines and mining tunnels.
The best part of the movie was the first 7 minutes that they pushed out on Youtube to promote it. Quickly downhill from there.
I'm surprised he didn't say anything about Sub-Zero speaking Chinese to a Japanese Village or scorpion speaking Japanese to American Asian.

No wonder people where saying MK Hollywood was the only martial arts film ever otherwise enter the dragon dunks on this movie.

I laughed pretty hard during the movie when they gave Cole actual plot armor.
So, it's basically the Resident Evil movies except instead of a hot piece of ass Mary Sue insert to drive interest for a main character, it's a whiny dude with less personality.
This is the best take I've heard so far, awful, awful film.

Only good video games they can make in to movies will be more realistic video games where there is no crazy powers no outer space going to different planets stuff like that cost too much money so movie and TV companies will find a way to keep the cost down and the outcome it will be a shity movie or crappy TV show
I honestly really enjoyed the movie, dident even think for a sec it was bad, although I do wish sub zeros outfit was abit better (unless it looks like that beacause lore)

I really enjoyed sub zero in this movie. Wish there was a little more scorpion screen time too though. That intro with him was dope imo.
Gundam I have to agree with you on some portions of the movie as I felt they should've stayed more with established canon than experiment. I also think they shouldn't have tried to write their own lore for this series. The costumes made sense and looked good. I hated the fact that they changed the premise of the movie. Its like they merged the lore for the first two or three games and thought it would be fine. The MK fan in me was pissed off about how the story was written and how much of a steaming dump they took on the lore. I won't go so far as to say this movie was cinematic gold but for a movie I saw for free, it was pretty good.

They didn't include Johny Cage because he's white and you can't have a white protagonist… in a series of games in which Liu Kang has been the protagonist since the 90s, whom they sidelined for an Asian fanfic character…
The fights were slow, the whole Arcana stuff was completely stupid, most of the characters were messed up and for the love of god, there was NO FUCKING MUSIC!! I can't remember ONE track from the whole movie, apart from the og theme playing for 3 seconds in the end.
It's very disappointing because the cast wasn't bad and the movie was ok visually, but whomever directed it either didn't give two shits about the og material or had some corporate douche telling him what to do.
