I’m your host, Darren Van Dam!

Mortal Kombat is one of, if not THE best movie based on a video game ever made. It holds true to the concepts and themes of the game while bringing enough new elements to the table to keep the movie fun and interesting. By no means was a movie based on a fighting game ever going to transcend cinema… but video game based movies have struggled for nearly 3 decades and Mortal Kombat (2021) might just be the best representation of a video game on film, to date.

Tired of looking for good movies to watch on Netflix, Amazon Prime or other streaming services? Every week I recommend a handful of the best movies on Netflix, Amazon, HBO etc. so my subscribers never run out of good movies to watch on streaming. Spending 10 minutes watching one of my videos could save you hours of searching, hours that you could otherwise spend watching good movies on streaming that you otherwise might not have ever watched or even known about.

Thanks for watching!

  1. "Best movie based on a video game movie… EVER". That's a pretty low bar. There are some decent movies based on video games like the original Resident Evil, but no really good ones.

  2. I woke up at 4:30 am and watched it before work haha, finished it about 20 minutes before I had to leave was perfect timing, definitely entertaining **wished there would of been an actual tournament though

  3. Overall it was a pretty solid adaptation, I just wished it was much more violent, but I understand MPAA restrictions. Highly recommend it to fans of the games and action flicks
