  1. I just purchased the LG CX and Denon X3700H and I had to turn off ARC on the Denon because the LG kept defaulting to the internal speakers every time I turned everything off and I had to go in and enable ARC on the LG every single time. I especially noticed that this behavior happened if the TV came on before the receiver. With ARC off on the Denon the LG no longer defaults to internal speakers whether the receiver is on or off and strangely enough ARC does still work. I have my PS5 connected to the LG and sending audio to the Denon through ARC (even though it is set to off on the Denon). I also turned off all CEC, I find this complicated things and is unnecessary if you have a harmony remote and it was causing some conflicts. I’m ok with not seeing a volume indicator, I can just adjust be ear.

  2. PlayStation 5 works since its hardware can be run thru HDMI 2.0 at 32 gbps but Xbox series x needs hdmi 2.1 since it uses 40gbps not surprised 😅🤷‍♂️

  3. Does the xbox series X do upscale eg: if I put in a DVD will it convert it my 4k display. This day in age dvds are rare to none existing but I still have some favorite content on DVD formats. Thank you

  4. Hi techno dad. Long time fan here and love your content. I have a Sony XBR-65X850E which is supposedly 120 hz. I have it connected to the Yamaha Rx-v681 4K receiver. My problem is that the PS5 is only playing at 60 hz and doesn’t recognize the TV being 120hz. Is it the tv, my receiver, both? My goal is to play at 4K 120 hz. Thanks

  5. I ordered my series X November 9th straight from Microsoft and it is supposed to be here by the 23rd of December. FML. I bought a new Denon x 3600 receiver and LG C9 and I'm all set up waiting for that damn Xbox to get here. I don't know why it takes a month-and-a-half to come directly from Microsoft but whatever. I still need to get my hands on a PS5

  6. Great video as always bro, can you make a video to show us how to setup the bookshelfs (front, center, sorround, etc) in a marantz receiver? Who steps to follow on setup configuration of the marantz please!! Thanks a lot

  7. Change the power save settings on the PS5 if it's snoozing on you too often. Playstations always come with conservative power settings by default that can be pretty annoying.

  8. Hey Techno Dad, do you hardwire most of your devices? E.g have you hardwired your TV, appletv/shield tv/ oppo etc to your router? Also if you don’t mind, which router do you use? I own the C9 as well.

Excellent youtube resource. I invariably check in to peruse new feeds.

  9. I currently have the Sony 65 X930E
    Gorgeous picture just saying……
and will wait for a better option to present before upgrading my tv to sync with my ps5 and series x
The c9 did it right in the area of hdmi. But, the polarization of some screen content looks horrible compared to LED and i like brighter pictures. The negatives of oled far out weigh the positives not even touching burn in. ** Patience is a virtue 🙂
But for those who have to have it now !
The lg c9 and vizio h1 are good candidates for
    4k @ 120hz
    I'll wait

  10. I get a lot of handshake issues….lg cx, denon 4700, emotiva amp on a trigger to the denon….sometimes the auto switching just doesn't work….I have the ps5 running through the denon 8k port, the series x is connected direct to lg….occasionally when switching the emotiva will shut off because the tv doesn't pick up the eARC connection, and I have to go into the lg menu to shut off eARC in the sound menu, then it switches to tv audio. Then I go back into sound and turn back on ARC and eARC and it's fine. It also does this occasionally when watching xfinity/comcast 4k hdr sports broadcasts. When switching to hdr it will just sometimes lose the connection and the emotiva triggers, shuts down, and I have to go into the lg sound settings to fix. No idea.

For a while an nvidia shield pro would turn the tv off, which would shut down all the electronics because they were linked…had to go into the shield settings to rectify that, but had no idea it was the shield doing it initially so it took some time to figure out which device was causing the shut down issue. First world problems. I also can't figure out why I'm getting intermittent feedback to one (and only one) of my arendal subs, but ok. I have the harmony elite but I haven't even set that up custom yet…no time…I just use it to turn on and shut down devices at this point.

I had no choice to put back my sony1080 avr and it looks amazing. Denon is so complicated I need help my 4700h is sitting on the side until I get the CX.

  13. Not sure if you explained in the vid as I am still watching but why do you have the xbox directly to the TV instead of receiver? Are there benefits to have a device directly to the tv as oppose to the receiver?
