Navy Seal Geoff Reeves is back and here to give his thoughts about Escape from Tarkov. Geoff gives us a detailed play-by-play of the tactics he sees in today’s gameplay, letting us know how to move, where to look, and when to talk when you’re on the battlefield. Join us as we try to Escape from Tarkov in a Navy SEAL certified, tactically incorrect way.

In Escape from Tarkov, two private military companies (United Security “USEC” and Battle Encounter Assault Regiment “BEAR”) are engaged in combat in the fictional Norvinsk region. As a result of political scandals and corporate collapses, Tarkov has become a mess and warring factions have turned the city into a shell of its former self with sections of the city being controlled by aggressive locals called “scavs”.

  1. Cool video, just got into Tarkov myself. However, he's not reacting to Tarkov, he's reacting to gameplay by some less-than-average gamers, I would say. Doesn't do the game justice, in my opinion. Either way, love the video!!

  2. Gamology should do a show where you have two experts from different disciplines share their thoughts on games so you can hear the difference in philosophies in strategies. For example, a Navy Seal and a SWAT team member, a kung fu practitioner and a ninjutsu artist, a weapons expert from western arts and one from eastern arts, etc. I think it would be interesting to hear the differences and similarities in strategies.

  3. This guy might prefer the Escape from Tarkov live-action series far better than the game itself, since from my understanding the actors were all either retired vets, or trained by retired vets and active special forces guys.

  4. Even though the commentary had some valuable stuff to it, I’m glad it didn’t get more views. Do your job and inform yourself of what you are reacting to or even rating wtf. Also, maybe spice things up and don’t use Drewski gameplay.

  5. You may kinda like DayZ, it's practically son of Arma series and there is a lot of fun equipment to use. Not mentioning a very cult map of Chernarus and rather modern map of Livonia.

  6. I think he does have a point about the movement, such as pie corners and not staying in the open, but if Dreski tried to pie every corner, there would be too many places to do it, especially with the size of the map. And you would probably still die because the wonky controls would never let you do any smooth transitions in the corners. Also, hearing the sound is crucial to surviving in Tarkov. Do not get heard will give you a significant advantage in such a brief and small encounter, so over-exposing yourself is sometimes an acceptable risk.
I always think Tarkov as more comparable to doing a large-scale home defense alone with limited time. Because there would be no teammates and a handful of threats, you will have to bet that some corners were safe and kept a low profile all the time. It is never a good idea to put yourselves in that situation but that is the lore of Tarkov. Someone should obviously explain the context better, but there is nothing wrong with what he said.

  7. I like how everyone you brought on says "Wow, their communication is amazing!", but this guy is just "They talk too much" LMAO

P.S. I think you should've told him this is an apocalyptic setting so he would understand why everyone is looting everything

  8. It's nice to see a different perspective on Tarkov, most of the guys who react to it seem to love it a lot. Tarkov is pretty much the only game I've been playing for the past few years and at the highest levels of pvp real life tactics are not the meta in anyway. Most of the time when you are playing in a "realistic" way you're just slowing your progress down. Tarkov isn't the best mil sim out there, it's just a highly complex survival game.

  9. You should have told him that the game is based in a post apocalyptic state where recourses are limited.. And that’s why it’s realistic that the PMC not Soldier is looting the body’s

  10. I hate that they don’t actually show and discuss real gameplay. Let them get hands on with it, and play with people that have played before to show them the real tarkov experience. Show them the type of game it really is vs here’s a video that has a portion of the game play. They always do that.
