  1. I could see this guy in between two 20 man squads of warriors with a couple of murder bucket bodyguards. He can buff the warriors, reanimate them, provide fire support and also be a good counter punch with the murder buckets if the warriors get assaulted. Would make for a strong combo to hold the table center. Back it up with a command barge with a relic rez orb and you have a blob that is quite scary in shooting, CC and tenacity. 900 Points

  2. So we come to the most beautiful model by far.

Two important things first. He was massively buffed with the Codex. His weapon is 36 "again and his abilities are based on core units and no longer just on Warriors and Immortals while his points have remained the same. Of course i have my Tomb Blades in mind.

And secondly, the lack of an invulnerable save is not a problem, since it is actually not intended to be used in close combat and normally cannot be shot at. And in case of doubt you can still take murder buckets with you to protect him. Even if I think they're rubbish. I think he's pretty good.
Even if you get two Technomacers for the same price, which can also have Cryptek arkana.
However, his augmentation is really good and fantastic with the five possible targets.
I also think the combination with Anrakyr and the Warriors is very good.

Unfortunately I haven't been able to test this combination since I saw the Anrakyr video.
Greetings to Mike G who had this idea.

  3. Good man mentioning that sexy Novokh combo. Also something to mention, he’s a cryptek so he creates a free hq slot for another cryptek which really helps me feel better about bringing him along.

  4. Aw yeah, it's time for Illuminor Suarez!

I think if you're going to take Szeras, you want to take a Core-focused army. Warriors, Immortals, and Lychguard will make up the bulk of your force. You want to play aggressively, so probably reapers for warriors. Definitely bring an Overlord to get command protocols, and maybe another technomancer for all reanimation, all the time. Then just go all implacable advance on your opponent, walking up the board and blowing everything away, buffing units as you go. Have Szeras go with a unit of Lychguard, and if they're hitting a softer target throw him in to get some kills for more buffs.

If you aren't building your list around Szeras, he isn't really that great. Just a technomancer++ really. So 3.5 seems a good place for him.

  5. Illuminor Szeras

    The Z is silent.

SEH-rahs. The ‘Sze’ is pronounced like the ‘se’ in ‘sentence.’

The ‘rahs’ pronounced like the ‘Ros’ in Roswell.

    Emphasis on the SEH portion.

    Hope this helps. 🙂

Also, yes he’s probably less competitive, but he would deny one less character in a circumstance where one might take two Crypteks. He’s an agent, thus no taking additional Teks. Just a thought, but I agree 100% with your rating. Great channel.

  6. On paper he isn’t that great. But I have used him 3 times now and he has preformed really well each time. I just get great rolls when I fire his lance. It makes no sense haha.
I do need more core, as I tend to run out of units to buff or I get crappy buff for the unit I’m buffing.

  7. I think getting the +1S is highly underrated on him, it sure isn't as good as the +1T but with how 9th ed works your warriors will get stuck in combat eventually
