If I'm taking out a sniper often times I'm not planning on using it in a range where aim assist would matter anyway.
Also what's good about the Sniper Scopes is their ability to tell you distance, and bullet drop in meters Those numbers you 2,3,4,5 you see are all scaled by hundreds of meters, and if you looks somewhere on the sight usually the right it tells you how far the object you are currently looking at is. All this is good to help you get a clear and good shot. Even for just peaking at a pixel of a head you can very easily get a shot on someone by using this information to your advantage if you know how to interpret it. The non-sniper scopes do not provide this ability and while it is possible to hit someone without that information it seriously should not be underestimated how useful having that information is. This is why you can occasionally find some cracked sniper that shoots you consistently in the head with a charged Sentinel even when you swear you are behind cover.

Aim assist on sights higher than 4c would just be cheating. It’s made for far away targets and unless you are playing with different ads speed per optic, it’s already easy to be accurate because each sight naturally has a slower ads speed than the last.
Also If you want to move faster using bigger sights or in general when ads, you might wanna learn how to use a faster ads speed like 200 (if you use alcs, I don’t know how fast that would be in the normal settings). That way you can have a fast enough tracking speed when you wanna ads close targets that are sliding around or flying in a fight, and also when you use bigger sights the slow down effect doesn’t feel way to sticky and hard to lock on to people at times. it’s a little difficult to get used to but it’s worth it. Also, don’t use extra pitch and yaw speed. The abrupt movement speed burst makes it in practice for good tracking (and ramp up time and ramp up delay also just suck for responsiveness), whether it’s on your normal look sens, or on your ads. It will be a lot easier for your thumbs to get use to a normal look settings than those kinds of settings.
Anyway I’m sorry for rambling but I hope this helps somebody lol. I play linear and claw with a kontrol freek thumstick and I use 400 Yaw and pitch normal look sens and 180 yaw and pitch ads. I just switched to it recently and I love it. Aim feels buttery smooth but it is sometimes difficult to control without warming up.
