That Dr.Reid person tried to kill horizon in her cinematic. Also in horizons cinematic it shows Newton in the energy crisis lab. When it showed how much time had past. And when he died. It’s all so complicated!?

What i think happened is Horizon wanted to solve energy crisis with the black hole crystals harvested later by her. Horizons friend (the girl that left horizon to die in the black hole) probbobly told the world that shes dead, she gave (she gave them away bcs she couldnt turn them into energy) the crystals to Newton and his co-workers probbobly other apex legends family members bcs Newton wanted to continue what his mother started. After they did it Horizons co-worker came back to steal it for someone who speaks to her in the Horizon trailer probbobly her boss. And around 87 years later since Horizons mission she somehow escaped of the black hole, just to comeback to the explosion of the lab and the death of her son (or not…).
