  1. When I went to GameStop to pick up my copy of dragon quest 11 on the switch they also had an extra set of dragon quest 11 pins for the Ps4 and they have them to me.

  2. I'm finding lots of ups and downs with Ys 9. I just started Chapter 5 and I am so very bored. When there's a goal, it's fun. But often my goal in the game is just "explore the city". That's what's going on right now. No direction. So incredibly bored. I don't know if I have it in me to even power it up again. Probably 2nd worst Ys game ahead of Ys 5, and like that game it's one that I don't think I can stick with to the end because I'd rather be doing anything else with my life.

  3. Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age Definitive Edition was recently on sale at EBGames Canada for $29.99 from $49.99 but I passed on it because there are no new trophies for the game.

  4. youd think games like mario 64 or donkey kong for snes would be like the most common thing ever but you literally never see them at any game stores or anything. I think its just because nobody is selling memories anymore.

  5. Bravely Default 2 is a very curiously designed game. Still sticking with that idea of conforming to an old-school style. It's a very gameplay-centric game, not the sort for people who want a side of gameplay to go along with their story. I have a special fondness for it, but I always feel a need to give people at least some of the rough end up front, because you have to know this is a deliberately coarse breed of RPG. And there are a few technical annoyances here and there.

  6. Hope things are well, Johnny. Curious how Kim's progress with Xenoblade is going. She was a bit ahead of me last time, so I imagine that's still the case. Hope she's not burnt out on the quests yet!

  10. Only barely started on Bravely Default 2 when Monster Hunter Rise arrived. The few hours I played I liked, was just getting into the job system – JRPG people will like, others probably find boring.

  11. 30+ hours for an Ys game? they usually only take 15 hours tops. I don't know if a long Ys game is a game I want but I'll likely buy it, since I love Ys. and have played but but 8 and 9 (including all the remakes) I've been poor lately, but some day I'll be getting 8 and 9

  12. Bravely Default II is awesome. It was my first game in the series, but the job system is so addictive because there's so many ways to mix and match main job, sub job, and abilities. Put in a cool 80 hours to totally complete everything and still wanted more when I was done. I have the first game in the mail just waiting to arrive now.

  13. I just started Ys Origin, physical on my switch a few days agfo. Living it right away, using mage character. i love the simplicity of how you can just jump in, read a quick cutscene, and right into thje action.

  14. I can't believe imbeciles ask the question why do you listen to CD's? Evidently these clueless fools have absolutely no idea about quality and prioritise convenience over decent sound. Fools.

  15. Hey Johnny good to see another vid from you. Love your content.
I'm not sure if there's a more appropriate channel to make a game recommendation to you, but I feel compelled to recommend 13 Sentinels Aegis Rim. It's Vanillaware's latest masterpiece and I know you've been a fan of their previous works. Incredible storyline, presentation, artwork, and music. It wasn't marketed much so it flew under the radar for a lot of people. Hope you discover it if you hadn't already.

  17. Bravely Default 2 is pretty good. The city art is one of the highlights. I'm in chapter 3 and the main town there is seriously impressive. The story so far is a bit underwhelming, well-executed with good character interactions, but so far not a lot going on beyond "get the crystals from the bad guys". The gameplay is very FF3 or FF5, and mastering all the different jobs and combining abilities is extremely compelling, much as it was in FF5. Some subquests feel cheap, but a lot give you some cutscenes or party chat for character development, which is better than in many RPGs, so I’ve felt motivated to do most of them.
