You already had two small houses. I thought each house provided space for 3 population?
Also, check your build limit again. I think completing some quests has increased it.
It's in KG's so you need to convert your shitty Imperial system to a proper Metric system 🙂 lb to kg.

When talking to NPCs, don't ask about the weather in winter, they hate it, similar to any outdoor activities like having lunch by the river, their responses are based on the season. I'm not sure if better clothing will help with NPC conversations but gradually working on getting better attire to see if that makes any difference. for merchants your approval rating with them does seem to impact the discounts you get on items, so it is good to keep this high as well.

I saw a trick with gathering logs. Get 8-10 at the top of the hill, and drop the stack so they roll down toward the buildings. Just keep doing that after every couple trees. That way you don't have to keep running back and forth.

For woodcutter skill to work, you have to switch to other tools (not other axe) first than switch back to axe.
You use daub/chinking to fill cracks in the wattle or spacing in log cabins to insulate the buildings . Keeping your villagers warm/cool and dry during season changes. Making them more happy.💑

ATTENTION BUG Ahead: In the 8th year you get a task to marry. If you are already married by then you will not be able to complete this task and may have to start all over again. Little hint. If you are a bit overloaded you can use w + old + arrow key to run a bit faster. If you want to chop down trees 15% faster you must not use the shortcut key but the selection wheel.
It also makes sense if you now have the mine to build your houses of stone because they last much longer and your inhabitants are happier. But you have to choose this BEFORE you build the walls with sticks, because you can only upgrade the walls with mud and you need geese for that. It also makes sense if you build a house and a camp near the mine. The extracted materials like iron, stone and salt are then available in both camps and you can also extract them in the village. It is also advisable to talk to as many people as possible daily. This is the level of diplomacy skill you will need.
You also do not need to buy fertilizer. When you replant a field it is automatically fertilized. This means you can draw, plough and sow the field. Done. Also only 1 woman and a man with 2 children can live in a house. Also make sure that if you only put a wall in a house and then upgrade it with logs or stones, the inhabitants are not homeless in the meantime. Thank you for showing how fast the iron hammer wears down. I'll stick with the wood hammer for now as they are easy to build. Hopefully the devs patch that and make the iron hammer last much longer.
The linked storages DO work, it's awesome. It also increases the storage capacity! Resource storage 1 has 300kg max, after you build the 2nd they show 600kg
My hunter aims with a bow but nothing happens, the menu says it is working though…..not sure…

We need a wandering trader system in the game i feel like it would add to the realizm
lol a psck of wolfs chase me into the village bottom left corner and all the villagers just set and watch all the wolfs nearly kill me i had jump fence and get on top of table to kill the whole wolf pack to my self and I even tried going in a house and wolfs chase me into the house so i had run out lol
you most defiantly do have a compass literally at the top center of the screen near impossible to miss
I believe that the NUMBER ONE problem with pretty much ALL "survival" games is that the resources NEVER deplete PERMANENTLY !!! You CANNOT say that ANY of these games are "realistic" if EVERYDAY the resources get replenished. I mean where I come from when I cut down a tree or take a rock it is COMPLETLY GONE !!! I cannot go to sleep and wake up and POOF it reappears again. It FORCES a player to move up the ladder of the technological tree in games such as this one. And with games like SCUM it will FORCE a player to MOVE ON and not simply log off and log on again and POOF like magic EVERYTHING is restocked again !!! You do not even have to leave that town just log off and log on everyday !!! Such realism !!! Anyway enough of my ranting I love these kind of games I just REALLY wish for PERMANANTLY depleting resources to REALLY find out how long I can last !!!
There is a clay deposit close to your build site to the west across the road.
Well, you could make another pickaxe and leave one in the cave if it does indeed stay.
You can also edit the walls and roofs to wood/stone before you build the house up makes the people that live there will be happier

For the worker buildings the chest that is there you place materials and tools needed for the worker to do their job, their outpout from their job goes to the resource storage example, if you want the smith to make spears you put logs im the smithy chest, and set spears in management tab, same with the hunter lodge, you place a bow, arrows and knife in the hunter lodge chest, and the worker will deposit meat, fur and leather into the resource storage, wood cutter building put axe in the chest there and logs go imto the resource storage,
