There’s a new poll from the Sims 4 team (on Twitter) asking simmers if they prefer to build, play out stories, or spend time in CAS–and I have some speculation what this new survey could mean for what comes next for the Sims community, and what could be in store in 2021. I’ll give you my honest opinion, other’s reactions, and ask you what you think and what you’d want to see instead for Sims 4.
Whether or not this Sims 4 poll is a hint for more Spark’d community build/ buy and cas challenges, a reality tv show or nothing at all, one thing is for certain: many are wondering what improvements could come to Sims 4 in 2021, whether as base game updates, wishlist dlc (generations, hobbies, resorts, werewolves) or in demand things like improved personalities, babies and cars. And of course many are wondering if Sims 4 will finally not be broken and full of glitches. Let’s hope for some core improvements in the new year.
Stay tuned for Sims 4 news, updates, patches, interviews, reviews, speculation, leaks and more. I also cover Paralives and EA news. And let me know if you’d like see Sims 4 packs/ dlc ranked.

I just have a gut feeling sims 5 announcement is coming in 2021 or 2022
If you think about it… we are a lot closer to the sims 4’s 10th anniversary then the sims 4’s launch date
I think it's completely valid to critique the game based on that tweet. All simmers want is more gameplay that matters but the team never seems to listen. I don't get why, though. They have the time(they're still working from home right?) so they could easily fix the base game issues with a few big patches and then actually ask the community about what packs we want. It's funny, despite the enormous amount of players saying they want it and asking the team to please do it, they still haven't made a generations pack. They have to be seeing the requests, it's impossible for them not to, so why haven't they done it? It can't even be about money, a generations pack would make them sooo much money. It's like they just don't care. Sorry, that got way off topic 😬
I agree with pleasant sims, i used to be all for gameplay but for the last year or so i have started to just build (which i almost never used to do) and have been remaking all sims builds… It's like i have explored all of sims' gameplay
I didn't even think that deep into this poll but I think you hit it on the head!
I would rather they have their polls more accessible. Like make an official Sims Polls site that anyone can take part, otherwise put polls on other forms of social media too. I don't have a Twitter so I don't get to take part in these. They occasionally post on Facebook, but they never respond or seem to even look at it again and they never have polls there. It seems when they are "engaging with the community" it's on Twitter which doesn't include all Sims players. They're engaging with only Sims players who have Twitter. This is excluding a large portion of Simmers.
Hi Erin well if that star wars garbage pack is anything to go by? looks like whatever it is they have planned (or should that be schemed? ) will be stylist based
I want a Scottish based pack because people always think of England when think of uk
I love these in depth vids you do, the more data the better. It'd be awesome to see some stuff really getting into sales figures, traffic… or a REALLY interesting one would be metrics in dealing with how much simmers here on youtube/twitch can affect real sales! happy new year btw!
I agree, it would help a lot if they said in what way they can improve the Sims 4. We need more gameplay options, the imagination is great and all but some people struggle with that and to be honest, sometimes it's good when random things happen in the game unexpected.
I saw a post by the English simmer about getting together with her sparked team in the last week or so. So I would say possibly new sparked season.
I wonder if EA is aware of the quality of The Sims 4 or its issues. They also don't seem to care or acknowledge about The Sims FreePlay and The Sims Mobile despite criticisms lobbied towards them though I doubt any "free to play" developer cares about the criticism of microtransactions or controversial events like time limited events.
I'm not sure if it's appropriate to call “Stylist” and “Builder” as a playstyle but to be fair, there are people who actually use The Sims mostly for building or creating Sims. Some people don't even touch Live Mode at all.
I saw that on 8:03 it said PC DVD-ROM SOFTWARE and doesn't mention Mac unlike the later copies, also the old TS4 logo and cover. Interesting fact: The Sims 4 games originally didn't mention Mac when it released in 2014 but the Mac mention was added when The Sims 4 was ported to OS X (now macOS) presumably to avoid confusion if The Sims 4 supported macOS. However, Steam version of TS4 doesn't support Mac despite the game, Steam, and Origin being available for macOS.
Regarding question of the day: I love all of my professors. They are such wonderful people and truly care about me as a person and that I learn in their courses. What I don’t like is that, though I have been planning on a double major, I likely won’t be able to do that because of my school’s overpopulated psych program. I can’t even get into the classes I need to graduate as an upperclassmen
Oh wonderful another poll EA can ignore the results lol.
I just got the Sims 4, I like it so far! I got Get Together, too. Next time the packs go on sale, will definitely be getting Get To Work and Seasons. Maybe Cats and Dogs, too.
Hey Erin, this might be another hint!! The adventurous trait has an animation that's more like a pirate seeking land than like a sim who loves snow. Also, princess Cordelia's story is full of pirates. It might be a far stretch but I think an open water + under water world could be really cool! Especially when the mermaids get an update
I'm a little late on this, I probably would be a storyteller if I could tell my story the way I want them to, but I can't because of the limitations the gurus put on the game, like the cell phone just to name one. So I'm just a player, not a storyteller, not a stylist, not a builder, just a regular player. I don't have Twitter though so seems my opinion like the opinions of many was probably unwanted anyway.
I want them to focus on the game, not silly things like Spark'd
I do agree with the play styles cause Storyteller used to be me butttttttttt No I play the sims to makeover townies and build and I never built before the sims 4
They deserve what they get in the negative comments… Let's be honest they are toxic.
What mods/CC do you use for personality traits? 🙂
I really appreciate the advice on personality traits. I'd love to play around with having more negative traits.
Its kind of sad that they though that building or styling is a playstyle, but I can see where they come from, since most players will identify themself as builders, or stylists or storytellers really, but should it not be all together anyway? Like some day I like to spend time building or renovating, but other day, Ill have some crazy idea to transform a sims appearance for the gameplay I intent to do etc… Mainly I play the game and when times come, I build/change their appearance and can take hours doing it. I think that at this point building is well developped, still miss things but mainly they should focus on storytelling and CAS assets… for me CAS is the most important now, because which man can create himself without bodyhair really? Like Im sick of arguing or asking for it after 6 years, when it was the first thing I checked in the game since launch, where is the freaking bodyhair? 😞😟 I know there was a poll for skin details last years but we never heard of the results or if they were working on some of those aspects… And frankly, there is not just bodyhair. CAS sucks for men customization, like its not normal that I cant create an old looking dude with bald pattern hairstyle and more type of beards… Where are nails for my female sims? There is so many things missing. One beard a year is NOT ok. And full beard are trend yes, but you know there is still lovers for full goatee, goatee with curled mustache and all sort of beards really. This is getting old now, people doesnt seems to understand that men customization sucks in this game. It is not normal that in a expansion pack we get like 3 hairstyles and female get 12… where is the equality here? Im not againts more for female because fashion is more developed for female irl, but christ it feels like a sexist game more and more…
