LETS SUMMON DEMONS

How could an endless game from bgs be bad?! I loved nms. Their game with a similar technology could be mind blowing and combined with hand crafted architecture characters, and enemies, it would be the best game ever.
If there using the same game engine, forget starfield it will be a mess.
I think the statement on Starfield being not an "epic" is being misunderstood a bit. I think based on statements made by Todd Howard that Starfield is more focused on the act of space exploration as the central plot of the game. Rather than the Mass Effect Trilogy that's a huge epic story with with a sci-fi setting and backdrop. Exploration could be the focal point. Think Mass Effect Andromeda… if they didn't just kill all exploration right off the bat. Imagine like No Man's Sky that everything is new to you the PC. Not just more planets that already have settlements with species you know. You are the first human's to reach this place, you encounter an intelligent alien species or unity of several species, you can't go back and have to make a place for yourself and other humans in this new world with the limited resources you have. You'll have to gain favor with several factions and slowly you learn about the big bad the player has to overcome, or fail as the first humans to ever reach another solar system. No grand galaxy spanning warfare, no doomsday scenarios, just this one goal: establish a foothold for humanity. So like No Man's Sky, exploration and discovery as a theme. Like Outer Worlds in that the problem to solve is local, personal and not a doomsday scenario. So actually more like Fallout than The Elder Scrolls.
ResetEra sucks, I'd say you are smart to doubt anything that comes from there.
I think point was talking abt the survival aspects and spaceship exploration from no man sky i don't think he meant procedurally generated everything
I would prefer that bethesda make a massive hand crafted universe BUT! I would be ok with them making an endless exploration universe as an end game mechanic. Maybe not endless but a bunch of final frontier type planets where there are secrets to discover but not a bunch of quest at least until dlc. God dammit todd just show me the game already
Four words: temper expectations..
Been burned too many times. I will hold judgements until I have it in hand. After Fallout 76 and Cyberpunk…..
Yeah, I didn't like either of those games. I was going to buy this day one, but I am definitely getting worried.
Can't wait to play Skyrim in space! Tell me that sweet little lies, Todd!
Probably means by game play? With besthesda rpg elements
I hate Mass Effect games so thats a good news
I would like to see endless exploration, as long as that was secondary to the handcrafted places. Similar to Radiant quests and Settlement systems. Say we get like 5 planets with certain cities and dungeon where all the quests take place. As long as those elements are complete experiences and satisfied; I would be very happy with infinite asteroid mining, spaceship battles, random events like ship that needs help refueling.
Just make sure the fundamental experience is there.
I like procedural content if done right
I think they'll use procedural generation like they always have since oblivion BUT At a much larger scale while keeping the main locations hand crafted. as for the outer worlds they probably mean its story telling and RPG elements. I think of it as Daggerfall in SPACE but made with 2021 tech
If its more like a 25% No Mans Sky and 75% Outer Worlds mix, that could work – Imagine several systems (not endless) but each system is fully explorable ala No Mans Sky… You only need half a dozen or so 'bodies of interest' per system, a couple of landable planets and space stations… Then make it like a Fallout/Outer Worlds thing when you are on foot, with proper quests and npc's… If they keep the overall scale of the exploration to a reasonable level i think it could work… If they try and have 100's of procedually generated planets and all of that, it will prob be a big mess for a while lol…
I would turn down the Starfield hype until we actually find out what it is.
yo
Todd Howard never said it would be a big sci-fi story. He said it would be the most epic sci-fi THING. And exploration game would fit that and not to mention that is literally Bethesda's MO. They make games that have a strong exploration focus.
Man, i think the procedure generated stuff, its going to that textures rocks models of objects that you can use that development softwares. Its like procedural genareted in the development, and not when we stard the game, like in No Man's Sky.
And one thing that i want in Starfield barrow from No Man's Sky is the space travel in your ship, and the possibilities to enter in planet with no loadings.
And as Toddy has mentioned before, the game will acctually be more realistic and more about exploration, but i dont think this will lead to a Simulator game, the game will probably still be very story driven and action advanture game, not just exploration simulator.
procedurally generated != endless! If done right procedurally generation is a fantastic thing to create vast game worlds. Look at Valheim for example.
And dont hype… because after the Hypetrain mostly follows the Hatetrain. There are sooo many examples in the past.
You’re point of not wanting procedural generated universe is irrelevant considering you keep comparing it to a indie game Bethesda basically made Procedural generation they own it which means they’d be the best for making a game with endless content
I don't understand, you either have been censored or it's just for me, but your stuff never comes up in my feed anymore.
No Man’s Sky and Outer Worlds are vastly different experiences. I have the hardest time believing that Bethesda Games Studios would make something like No Man's Sky.
I'm hyped to find out about Omen. I'm much more hyped about that than Death Loop.
Starfield wont be out this year unfortunately people are having a hard time getting an xbox there isnt going to be a steady flow until next year they wont release it until an xbox is easy to get it wouldnt be smart putting it out this year on a business end
Good video Skullzi! 😊👍
I think you’ve completely misinterpreted this info. It seemed that they meant Starfield would be a Bethesda rpg with the survival and building aspects of No Mans Sky.
You might need some hype salt buddy
NMS has a story these days. A weird story with a sprinkling of cosmic horror here and there, but a story nonetheless. That said, what we might be looking at is a set number of worlds/locations, but on a larger scale than before. Not a whole galaxy – let alone a whole universe – but something more than just a single system, like, maybe a whole cluster, or something, and like NMS, you'll have to upgrade your ship to be capable of reaching/functioning there. Or I could be wrong and it is the worst-case scenario and they changed their minds and it's some poorly-done ripoff of NMS that's multi-player and loaded with MTX's. We'll have to wait and see.
I'm guessing that it's like no man's sky in that you have to travel to different planets for different resources for crafting and building. And like outer world's in that there will be quests to send you to different planets that develops the story.
Dont forget that Todd tends to lie.
In my humble opinion "procedural generation" is just another term for "We lazy, F you." … I do like handcrafted worlds much better than those stupid computer generated worlds.
But this is just my opinion. I know there are in fact also good arguments FOR procedural generated worlds, but i don't think that these arguments have enough weight to them, to fully stand their ground in a real discussion.
Omen sounds really cool! I'm also super hyped for Fable!
Why the heck Avowed take the 1st place for the most anticipated game
Maybe it's a game that starts on earth 🌎 🤔, then a team are sent after a disaster we have to find a plant we can colonise. So, the game involves space exploration without any knowledge of what to expect and we venture through a wormhole to get there. Then that's what leads into a larger story.
Bethesda would never make a game without an amazing story behind it.
Maybe this is what he means?? 😃🙂😉
It could be referring to space exploration from No Man's Sky & the RPG elements from the Outer Worlds.
