To see proper snow in Edinburgh is something of a rarity, so when we saw the white stuff falling from the sky late last night, we braved the cold weather at 2am to …

  4. My husband is a HUGE Seahawks fan, so I couldn’t stop staring at the hat! 🀣. Looks like fun, but I started to get cold watching, especially when it started to rain.

  5. I was really pleased to see the Cally Hotel featured in this video Steve. My wife & I had a great weekend there many years ago to celebrate an early wedding anniversary – happy memories.

  6. Edinburgh is a beautiful city, and unspoilt by over-development as London has allowed itself to be. Snow always lends a magical aspect to a familiar scene – not that I'm a fan of its aftermath, having broken my leg falling on black ice at 6 a.m. Christmas Eve 2009 (stone cold sober I assure you), on my way to work my last shift before Christmas. and I wasn't able to work my next shift for some months :). They handle this kind of weather much better in Poland, where they expect it.

  7. I lived in Edinburgh upto the early 90s and worked just off Princes Street haven't been there since early90s it interesting to see the change in the type of shops that now dominate the street fast food and mobile phone shops, it used to be wall to wall dept stores and high end clothing shops. Things have definitely changed not for the better I would say, very sad sign of the times, used to be a great little shop called Past times in Frederick street I got all my Christmas Presents for the female family members there. I am guessing its gone, I loved going into the Waverley Market and watching the Candles being made in the Candle shop next to the Body shop and Athena and I like going into Acanthus for a drink and a meal . We had a lovely flat in Bruntsfield I always remember a fair bit of snow up there in the winter it always felt cold and the cobbled streets were downright dangerous to walk on.

  8. I am so jealous, we had not have snow yet. It is so beautiful. I know how you feel I would go out too at night. I love the chaos a little snow creates it makes us small with all our technology. People should enjoy it more. Snow is much underrated..

  9. Happy new year to both of you from both of us! We starting watching recently because of our love of Edinburgh in particular but all of Scotland and reminisce in these locked down days about eating in that very same McDonald's open after two in the morning in a snowy city centre a couple of summers ago. We didn't realize that your 'normal videos' are generally elsewhere and are obviously a whole different type of thing and occasionally you sound apologetic in these recent ones about not producing them. Not that we haven't now gone back and watched all of them too. For us though we particularly enjoy your videos like this and hope you continue to find parts of Edinburgh and Scotland to make videos in and about. Much needed escapism from locked down Stoke on Trent! We particularly LOVE your co star! Another reason for loving the more recent 'local' videos! She's not in the others!!!πŸ˜‚
Happy new year to both of yous from both of us and keep the videos coming!!πŸ˜‰

  10. Amazing you were out in the middle of the night and yet there were more footprints and people about, great video again but it proves it is not the going out but the coming back that is worst. Hope you managed a good sleep.
