Nikita: PMC Permadeath Possible – Community Podcast Recap – Escape From Tarkov News

Today the community podcast hosted by ironfists and joined by nikita, sigma, danexert, and geekseh was nothing short of interesting.

Today it was revealed that Nikita has been toying with the idea of a permanent death mechanic for everyone in Tarkov should they make certain mistakes, and he’s showing no remorse for it at all.

I APPRECIATE YOU ALL!

  1. Huh.

    Console Tarkov….

That could actually be extremely interesting. Less cheaters, probably more laid back gameplay simply because console guys can't aim as well as PC…

I'd totally be down for that.

  2. the radiation thing sounds terrible maybe if tweaked properly but from a gameplay pov based in fact this is terrible to have your pmc perma die essentially he wants to add zones where A people with lvl 1 just keep fucking spamming it to coin flip good shit then do that until they get like a fkin red card or w.e he adds then they play the game XD? or B no1 will ever go in them………… not to mention if your account is fucking leveld any bit not a single player good or bad will fuckin try to go near it because its such a astronomical risk that isnt necessary. (My way of designing it would be to simply have your character die for the raid due to the radiation instead of the whole character and for the next 1-10 raids you have a X debuff scaling with the ammount of rads u received any item received in the rad zone will have a radiation tag that means u cannot put it in your container depending on the scale of loot tables the super high tier stuff needs to have a fk tone of rads which can only be semi negated by really high player skills? that sounds better last thing people want is a zone thats like HEY COME HERE AND YOU GET A BUNCHA BITCOINS LABS CARDS MARKED ROOM ECT OHHHH BUT IF U DIE YOUR ACCOUNT GETS WIPED
players: ok but cant a lvl 1 player just spam that before he progresses then just play the game? and what if im high level or im progessed then the zones are just a useless addition xD
good idea really hard to execute should just steer clear of it altogether
also what about the cheaters…??? 💀💀💀💀

  3. realism has a limit. if they made this game practically real life, nobody would enjoy the game. you get shot in the wrong spot in the leg, you will not stop the bleeding. You will lay there and bleed out no matter how many shots you pop. this whole idea of perma pmc death is just another part of that problem. the most realistic part about this would be that people would threat asses the area, risk reward the loot, and figure out that even 50+ real life hours worth of grind is never going to be worth it to risk, for what, a cool gun? ooo maybe a ubgl. or maybe a chance to get cucked and leave this super intense raid with some milk and a box of 9×18.

  4. Its a terrible idea. People will make throwaway accounts and just transfer gear to their mains that they get from the irradiated zones and once they experience pmc death, reset and keep farming on the throwaway account. Not to mention hackers just flying over the area grabbing everything.

  5. "you did it to your self" he said. I killed Santa 4 times before anyone even knew about him not to mention telling us about the bad karma you get for killing him. Whats next? If you pass trough a certain door you perma-die? Just add that to the game also and dont say anything about it.

  6. I think a cool way to do this might be to reset all stats like i assume they would but maybe make the hideout able to be broken into to recapture it based on what type of security it had. Higher security means more difficult entry. Maybe make tnt or hand drills a resource for this. Also to keep this difficult make an arbitrary rule to not have these types of items on flea. It would be an unnecessary change but a cool one to make there seem to be some hope of maintaining progression.

  7. Bruh I’m afraid a hacker will find out how to kill my character with radiation and I lose my PMC. There’s a hacker every other fucking raid and the power to perma someone’s character will absolutely become a hackers wet fucking dream.

  8. As long as you don't randomly get radiation and die sure, But if it's a random thing fuck all that noise literally would kill the game gg no re. Like imagine you get close to kappa then pow your dead from no where do you A. Reset B. quit the game C. play as a scav. Cause I think few would restart and then what happens if it does it again?. What about if hackers some how find a way to implement a hack for this? Like providing it's all done proper and you consent to the risk of destroying your character I'm all for it but I just see some way some how this fucks up and fucks over 90% of players in some way killing the game. Like maybe I'm just smoking something but idk man just feels like a storms brewing about this one.

  9. They want perma death and all this realism in the game but can't fix when bullets don't register or you shoot a scav in the head 15 times before it dies. Makes no sense. These updates are killing the game and the main reason why I left.

  10. Don't play anymore but I believe perma death would be the death of this game and limit the player base even more than it already is. Sorry but how many people will play a difficult game already lose their shit after grinding for 10 hours when this game already screws you over every other raid you go into.

  11. everyone saying the wouldnt go into the perma deadth zone untill they get that chemical quest and have to meassure levels of radiation inside the zone with the gas analyzer

  12. The permadeath idea is plain fucking retarded. The loot in there would have to be full of ledx graphics cards and color keycards for it to be anywhere near the risk of someone wasting time with starting again and doing these boring ass quests again. no one wants to reset mountains of hours they probably put into the wipe. The only outcome of a system like this will mean people are going to be running these with their alt accounts that they gear to teeth with their mains and just transfer loot, not to mention the cheater problem ingame. imagine these flying fuckers grabbing loot through walls they would be farming the shit out of it.. people tend to quit the wipe after a while when it gets boring or too time consuming and this permadeath would probably only make people quit faster . and for the ammo traders to be out of stock always , AGAIN. would also mean bots would be buying them at certain hours like the good old days. wich is also a stupid idea

  13. Like my friend said, the worst thing that will indefinitely happen with radiation if it gets added, is that the hackers would be able to use it. And when they learn the way to do it, they would be able to permanently kill you on any map, without a warning.

  14. All fun an games being a trap for cheaters until they disable radiation because the dev forgot to make it server side, oops. All skills are clientside meaning they are able to be level 9000 in everything. This removes the chance of bleeds and fractures. If they can do this I believe the radiation will not be an issue for them.

  15. PMC: Inhales a little spicy air, permadeath.
Also PMC: Gets shot in the head, revives with low health.
Tarkov Bosses: Takes magdump to the face, doesn't die.

Nikita/BSG need to choose between fun gameplay and realism. Because they're trying to both at the same time and it just doesn't work. Tarkov is just getting more painful and sado-masochistic to play for people who don't stream/dedicate their life to this game and is honestly the reason I haven't played Online/Live Tarkov in years.

At least SPT-AKI will likely put out a mod to remove this or make it more enjoyable. Because Tarkov is quickly becoming a "No Fun Zone"

  16. Watching you play seems like you don't even play this game. You're saying you like all these ideas, but you play like it's your first week on your first wipe, your opinion is irrelevant.

  17. My opinion is this:

BSG can't really add anything into tarkov without bugs. If I was like level 30 (I don't play a whole lot, owned the game for 2 or 3 years and only have 700 hrs) and got permadeath due to it not working right I would be pissed.

Most modern example is the 5.56 fiasco this wipe due to ballistic changes.

If they could add it in correctly, that'd be cool.

Still don't really like it though.
    Bad idea.

  18. My problem with permadeath as he described it is that in order to make the risk worth the reward the reward has to be immense. The problem is if all you have to do is go into these areas and maybe you catch the disease that forces you to restart your account then that's actually fine. If you're forced to restart your account you would just immediately farm the area with nothing to lose. Then BSG would have to make the areas harder to loot which would make it not worth the risk. It's just not a good system as described right now.

  19. yea lets keep the trader limits in place and not actualy link them to player numbers… nikita and his crew are focusing on ever more bullshit without fixing core issues
