In this video we’ll be looking into the lore and story of Ningguang, her background, her personality and the relationships she has with the people of Liyue Harbor. She’s one of my favourite characters and it felt right to make a video about her during the Lantern Rite Festival as she is arguably the face of Liyue.

Apologies for the quality of some footage not being too great, I had to grind an alt account on my potato pc to get to AR35 for the Jade Chamber cutscenes so it’s not as smooth as I’d like. Shouldn’t be a problem from now on though.
Also the UI appearing at the top right on some scenes is something new Mihoyo changed on the camera, I hope they change it back to just being the Genshin logo again but hopefully it’s not too distracting.

Her using the Jade Chamber as a bomb to subdue the God of the Vortex Osial was a big sacrifice. Her floating mansion was not a testament to her wealth but her sheer hard work and craft for honest business. How she, a lowly merchant, became Tianquan of the Qixing. I'm hoping to see her character quest. Hopefully, MHY won't forget.
The 3 characters behind Ningguang looks full of character details
It's curious that her symbol is the Phoenix, and Rex Lapis took the form of a Dragon – which together symbolizes the balance needed for married life in Chinese Mythology. Nothing much to think about here, its just the shipper in me I guess lol
It occured to me that the jeweler girl and the little food enthusiast girl in modstadt might've been "one of her people" as Ningguang puts it. They're the only Liyue people I've seen in the city, and they're both positioned near the tavern, a place where people (and knights) gather frequently to drink and talk. Mondstadt people love to drink; It wouldn't be surprising if they heard something from a couple of drunk knights, or just heard some talk in general, in a social-gathering area.
She has such a special place in my heart. Even before getting her I knew she was going to be my favorite character. Even as new characters come out and I gain some I still can’t break away from Ningguang as my main unit.
It’s like if they don’t accommodate her team I discard them. I sometimes forget she’s a 4 star.
But it’s more than that, I’ve just come a long way with her. From throwing weak rocks to nuking whole bosses in seconds. She’s my comfort character. Love ya geo mom!
