Yesterday Nintendo announced a new game slated for next month just ahead of E3 that looks like their take on Dreams where you will be able to build your own game. The visuals look similar to Labo’s ToyCon Garage giving users an easier interface to use when building their projects. Returnal ran into a serious issue yesterday on the PS5 when a new patch started actually deleting save games for the game.

I hope the Forza tech engine can handle a open world ARPG. Didn't we have the same issue when Bioware used Frostbite to make Mass Effect Andromeda?

I have a theory about Microsoft:

The Gaming Landscape is evolving and because of it, the console wars may be coming to an end

Microsoft sells product x against Sony's product y. If both companies spend the same amount of money to produce their respective products, and both companies sell their systems at the same price, 'Playstation revenue' (PS6, PS Now, Online services, etc.) per unit will pale in comparison to 'Xbox revenue' (Xbox X2, Gold, Game Pass, XCloud, etc.)
The current generation of systems are all selling at a loss. PC gaming will always be superior IF you have the money. But while Sony focused on system sales with PS Now being an added benefit, Microsoft is focusing on Game Pass revenue with system sales being a benefit.
None of this is new info, this is what more or less everyone sees. What I think is Microsoft end game is this: they become self-suficient off of Game Pass alone through Windows 10 and Mobile xcloud users, maybe even Switch users. Once that happens, Microsoft can go wild.
I expect the next generation of consoles, should Microsoft still participate, to go like this:
-Sony releases their system specs and price point
-Microsoft, now using a service as their primary source of income, undercuts Sony by about $200, with hardware equal to, or better than, Sony's offerings
-Microsoft wins in a landslide
This is not me being a Microsoft fanboy and saying Microsoft is going to win in the future because I want them to; I genuinely think that this is a possible future. If you are Sony, selling a $600 system that costs $800 to make, sure they might be able to recooperate the cost through their other sources of income, but if you're Microsoft doing the same thing, you're going to recooperate a lot more money per unit since the system will no longer be their primary source if income.
If everything goes according to plan for Microsoft, we may reach a point where an Xbox can output performance on the same level as the most cutting edge PC tech.
It's crazy to think that an Xbox today could outperform a 3090 and still be sold at a reasonable and marketable price point, but the current Series X is basically on the same level as a 2080TI, while being just a 1/4 of the price. But that's just a theory.

Returnal gives the chills like cyberpunk..that they suggest to hold off playing the game untill its fixed 😮 thats crazy
Returnal should have a Exit game and save feature, so that if you play for 2 houres and need a brake just exit and Return later, just like xbox quick resume. But if you die after the quit load then it is back to the begining as usual and save does not stay.

Sad to hear about that Returnal bug, Yea that definitely hurts the optics when you’re charging a premium $70. Hope to see them in good form with future updates for this game.
The more I look at returnal and Housemarque, the more it becomes appearant they had a bad QA team, put the wrong priorities for the QA team. . . or rushed pass the QA process entirely and rushed this game out the door to be a launch title, and that save data is so not what they were planning that if they even touch it the whole game falls like a house of cards.
Just polishing it =/= FULL QA.

The fact that game builder doesn't have an UPLOAD button is exactly the reason why they didn't make it $60 and also what makes the game not worth it.
Sure, i could scour all of reddit to find a good level, but I wouldn't pay $30 just to have a research assignment just to find someone else's game to play.

I was about to say I'm shocked at how many people haven't played the Mass Effect trilogy, but then I started thinking. EA hasn't really made it easy to play the games. I don't think they ever put the trilogy on the PS4 or Xbone, but I know they haven't put it on the Switch, and they did this weird split release thing on PC. The first two (iirc, it may have only been the first one) were available on Steam, and you had to buy the third on their own Origin service. It wasn't until very recently that they decided to sell the whole trilogy on Steam.
Come to think of it, I don't think there's any way to play Dragon Age Origins, Dragon Age 2, KOTOR 1 and 2, or Jade Empire on modern consoles either. Your choices are either Steam or old consoles.
