another great video, OLED all the way baby, I prefer deeper sharper blacks with pleasing brightness without it being too extreme or washing out the overall image, demon souls on PS5 is a great excellent example, as for 8k that resolution is better at 88-100inch screen, also I sit about 7-10ft from my 77 CX, good video mate keep up the content whisper.
also I noticed the game tests on CX have a warmer tone, I have mine set to medium, but I was using cool, for me medium is a good balance not too cool and not too warm.
I played Shadow of the tomb raider, and I had some issues with my Plasma TVs.. They had some black crush.. And in some parts it was really hard to see.. I then plugged my PS4 to my PC Monitor and was really surprised how much brighter and more shadow detail there is.. (calibrated to the same light output) It is for sure much easier to play on an LCD where you can see everything nice and clear.. Might not look as spectacular, but you see everything..
This is me of the video , talking about what iam seeing ( that's what I want )
Really great video on this one!! Love watching these!! Hey, not sure if you check what I think is your Instagram, if you do, could you check your dms? I sent a picture question to see what you thought about something i was seeing on my cx. If you get a chance that is. No rush, no worries. Love ya brother!
Oled WIN
Brian is the camera making the oled have that green tint in viewing the video? Or is that green hue look like that in person?
Great comparison vid my friend… the q900 looks good and I'm not an led man.. may be a viable option if my kuro in family room ever goes pop.. not sure if a panny oled would withstand the pausing my family do at points
Hows the upscaling?
This video has assured me that I may prefer mini or even micro led in 8k for sure for my next tv in a few years. I love the detail in the cx but there’s too much loss of detail. The q900 definitely has more detail but the blooming is like on my Z9f.
I remember finding it more pleasing to watch my older 42" 480p plasma than my 47" 1080p LCD tv over a decade ago. I've had half dozen of both LCD and plasma tvs since then and to this day I've never seen an LCD HD tv that I've enjoyed as much as emmisive technology panels. I don't have full array LCD or OLED (yet) but I suspect it will be same old same – emmisive tech for the win.
Hey whisper can you confirm that samsung still to this day stay reduces image quality in game mode.. I know all previous yrs model have still struggled to polish this issue like sony has over the yrs..please let me know if this q900r suffers from image lost in game mode thanks
This comparison stupid. The screens are not even calibrated to the same colour temperature.
Good video Brian. Both look great in their own way. 👍
Give me a native 4K image all day over an upscaled 8K image. The image of the trees at the end was a nice example of subpar upscaling. I much prefer the softer looking trees on the 4K CX vs the noisy over sharpened trees on the 8K Q900R. The 4K image looks more natural imo.
It's a super weird comparison in the sense that to my eye the colours on the Samsung just look super bland and maybe that is because it is right beneath the oled but I don't know – what I would say for sure is I feel bad for anyone who paid big bucks for the 8kness because the image overall is dreadful.
Game motion + seems to have better contrast on the Samsung / but adds a bit of latency (about 10ms)
I'm like a 🐷 in 💩 with my lot and I now couldn't honestly make my mind up what tv I prefer (between the oled & qled) definitely pros and cons to both techs.
Got my xbox series X hooked up to the qled and Ps5 to the oled / really torn between em / guess I must be a flip flopper 📺
Although it’s close, I have to side with the Q900r. Mainly because there are a lot of scenes that show me stuff that I’m supposed to see, and the LG’s lack of brightness is hiding it, or making it harder to see. I’m not a spring chicken anymore and I need all the help I can get seeing things. Lol Great video Brian! 😁 I’m super excited about the tv future. It’s gonna be pretty cool when we can go into Best Buy and check out micro led! 😃
Very diferent…
The Samsung looks way sharper with more detail
Not a fanboy of either but the QLED looks way better with detail, HDR and color
Oled looks very green the Samsung much warmer
Why is the CX so Green?
