well your screen was dark because you were in reyna ult and if you wanna know why it gets dark in reyna ult is because during ult all enemies are highlighted in different colour when they appear on your screen and scientifically human eyes catches a colour more often when all other surroundings are dark so from ur pov it's much easier to spot enemies.
