Outriders is a game that I can’t call good, a game that I can call flawed, a game that I have to call bad, but I think you should play it to reap the benefits of its experience. Outriders is described as a story driven RPG-Shooter that will put the player in the shoes of an Outrider, the last hope of the human race trapped on Enoch, a dangerous and untamed planet. The campaign can be played entirely in single player, or in co-op with up to three players. If this is the case and the game is a story RPG then we must judge it off of that. With poor dialogue and writing, lackluster enemy variety, janky bugs, and a forgettable world, Outriders is a bad game Objectively for a triple A studio, HOWEVER for MY experience, I really enjoyed the game. The crafting, the expeditions, the legendary addiction, everything this side of the game had, the one noted side of the game was everything I have been itching for, being scratched. Outriders may be a bad game to some, but to me this game is one you SHOULD play for your experience alone!

I enjoyed my time with Outriders, but that doesn't excuse it from having enough bad aspects to label it a bad game. Thank you for listening to my review because even though I love the game, it's flawed all over the place.

The most fun is had when playing with at least one other person… Like it's exponentially more fun.
I feel the same way about Hellgate:London (the original, not the shitshow that's on Steam now). It's why I've kept it installed on my system since it came out. It's buggy, the story is a mess, the areas are repetitive & the gameplay imbalanced af…yet is a lot of fun anyways. Now with mods people can even play the original came on a private server & have the multiplayer experience they had back in the day (with a few tweaks that help with bugs & add QOL improvements). By all accounts I should hate it because of how far short of what it was supposed to be it is…but it has a lot of charm. It reminds me of the original Diablo. Yeah-playing it today it feels really old & clunky but it's still FUN.
i cannot believe you are promoting this game when it launched in such a completely broken state after 5 YEARS of development… Im not just talking about the servers, which are horrible. I am talking about the technical performance of the game and how in 10 hours it crashes an average of 67 times… stop telling ppl to give devs money for broken products or thats all we will keep getting at release.
I don’t understand the point about, this games story is so bad that I think it’s bad on purpose, that’s just a weird way of saying it sucks but since I was with friends it was funny. I think if you had played a couple hours alone with no stream or friends you would change how you think of the story and gameplay.
I think your review is a little biased towards being a destiny main.. i love destiny but outriders has been awesome and destiny could take some things from it
This games only appeal to me is that it has an engaging leveling system
D2 does not have a good leveling system RN, and outriders leveling system feel focused and with a goal in mind
So it is doing good for me RN… But I must say, I already am getting kinda tired of the expeditions…

Outriders should not have done as well as it did, it honestly had every one of its qualities going against it, it’s now one of my favorite games of all time

I love the cheesiness of my main female outrider. It's like she is talking for me. Go through all this shit for nothing…."why do I even bother". Chucks severed head at someone, it's hilariously silly. No FOMO, I can play at my pace…..checks all the boxes that I find enjoyable. Halo CE it isn't, but I'll be damned if it ain't a good time.
Coming from someone such as myself who already has put 50 Hours into outriders, The short answer is that I recommend it, and the easiest way to explain the game to someone is that it's Gears of War and Borderlands together. A looter shooter that wants you to ignore cover but still think about your actions.
There are many bugs that I've heard about and haven't experience and even some that I have experienced like having my character wiped entirely (Level, Class, Materials, Inventory, Equipment, Stash, etc.) and having to start all over because support was no help, but I enjoyed the game enough that even after playing the demo for 10 hours grinding for launch day, I still wanted to play more of it. It's a fun looter shooter that really shows the fun after you complete the game and get to the final part where you get rewarded for killing hordes of enemies.
The mod system is easy and not stressful at all, the class system gives you just enough points to be happy with a build and the game generally feels unique to me. I didn't have a negative feeling towards the campaign and ended up liking every main character other than Bailey. The cutscenes did have issues, like ending early and audio issues especially towards the end, but I'm someone who will interpret the story in my head rather than having to see it, which is probably why I enjoyed it.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinions and of course, it's impossible to make everyone happy, but this is the first game in quite a while that I don't feel regret over purchasing, even after the server issues that eventually got sorted out which the devs did very quickly to my surprise and have already been talking about fixes and haven't gone radio silent like most of the games released recently.
I think one of the main reasons it excites me to play is that it feels like destiny 1 all over again, experiencing the unknown and playing until you can't anymore just to come back the next day and search for more Exotic items that nobody understands what they do yet. There's also going to be chasing legendary armor sets in this game too, which excites me as much as it did back in Diablo III.
My final message to all is to try the demo and make a verdict because this game seems like it mostly appeals to a small portion of people that are willing to deal with some of the bugs and not take it too seriously, but I'm among that portion that will enjoy this game for a long time to come. I hope you guys do too.
I've only had issues the first few days it released and it were only server crashes. Since then I haven't had a single problem and I'm really enjoying it so far. I've only had the game crash on me once as well. But I will say, no game has crashed on me more and was as buggy as black ops cold war. Not even cyberpunk holds a candle of flame to it.
i personally love the protag, they are such a dick that every cutscene is comedy gold. they know everyone is an asshole. they don't hesitate to kill people who need to be killed, they don't do stuff out of the goodness of their heart. they don;t even try to be some kind of hero, reminds me a bit of travis touchdown.

Destiny 2 is a terrible game that Ive been playing for years. Outriders is a pleasent surprise and the story isnt bad. Destiny 2 story is bad.
It’s better than destiny 2 and that includes the story and writing.
