  1. Did you play the free Outriders Demo? What's stopping you? And if you DID play it, what did you think?

Update: The demo has received a patch that's at least beginning to address some of the issues I mentioned about cover and matchmaking- they’ve also included a motion blur toggle, and aiming to improve the dreaded camera shakes. Here's hoping the fixes and improvements just keep coming.

  2. Hey man,
Great video. I played this as well and had a great time. Yea some things are quite bad like the camera shake, the cover and the aimbot enemies and the story might not be for everyone. But as for me I was intrigued as a destiny player who likes story based games as well I wanted to know more and it was fun to play as well. Can’t really say anything about performance because for me it never crashed or had any issues on ps5.
I hope this will get some fixes and you can just enjoy it for what it is.
    Peace

  3. The story is kind of cringe and generic, and probably wouldn’t be criticized nearly as much if Outriders didn’t come off as trying to be a story driven game… but at the same time, the effort is there, and it’s admirable that they’re trying to put a half-decent story into a genre that normally doesn’t bother with story

It certainly doesn’t take away from the story for me personally

Awesome vid, here's hoping to some good times with you when this hits the shelf!
And Casey, seriously… you're the best.
    Seriously… you're the best.

  5. Not gonna lie… this is the most generic/boring looking game I think I've seen in a loooooong time. Even putting my disdain for the looter shooter craze completely aside, the 'magic sci-fi knight' thing it does that everyone else is doing, the fact that it's sci-fi with (so far) no fantastical environmental ideas, the shooting and powers don't seem to offer anything synergistically unique or seem to create a focused gameplay rhythm… it looks exactly like the 'looter shooter' template, with nothing else added. In fact, it reminds me a LOT of Defiance, which is not a compliment.

Obviously that says nothing about the quality of the game itself. And I haven't played the demo because I'd rather eat cardboard. But man, looking thinking about playing this game has me falling asleep, lol.

  6. Best reviewer on the internet. Seriously, man. Always articulate, insightful, and looking for the positive before the suck. I liked what you liked, didn’t like what you didn’t like. But worry that a lot of the issues can’t possibly be fixed before launch. Hopefully, it’ll get an audience and a big chunk of goodwill and players will stay with it as they refine the game over time…

  7. One of the only roguelikes that has an actual skill tree like the genre is supposed to have which is good, I'm concerned about end game tho as most the games on the genre have horrible endgame, why even bother if it's just a needless job-like-grind like destiny
