Let’s take a quick look at the Outriders demo running on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, with a little Series S for good measure!

There’s a small section on a cutscene comparison with some missing labels and slightly confusing editing. If you’re not sure which version of the game you’re looking at please check the button prompt in the bottom-right corner.

As always, the video is up in 4k HDR so you can see everything for yourself. We’ve included some 3D headset audio in this one. You’ll get the full effect with any headphones you have to hand. Or more precisely, in your ears 🙂

Note this is a demo, the full game releases on April 1st so there is time for everything to change before it even releases, let alone after.

  1. Playing on both I also noticed frame drops on XSX. The gunplay feels better with a XSX controller though and I'm assuming fps will be patched so I'm still up in the air about what platform I'll be getting it on. Might even just go with pc cause for me it might be something I'll enjoy more at the pc than at the lounge. Ugh! Decisions decisions lol

  2. I played this for about an hour today on the series x and I definitely didn't think it was visually impressive and the game play was okay. The fire effects were very lacking and had seen better on alot of other games. Nothing special IMO

  3. VISUAL: Pretty much a toss up.

PERFORMANCE: Series X stayed hovering around 57 to 59fps (even in unstressed times, very odd)🤔 PS5 was locked at 60fps 😳 (however, it is a known that Sony display signalling can trick frame rate capture software) 🤷🏾‍♂️

AUDIO: The PS5 sounds mono but, with more low end base that you can hear during explosions. Xbox Series X has better stereo and way more channels of audio.

After watching this latest comparison, it is safe to conclude that @Asa_GameOnDaily is a pony. 👎🏾

  4. You shouldn't do these tech analysis on demos because they usually use a much older build of the game (2-3 months gap on average), that's why we see a lot of performance improvements on day 1 patches.

  5. Great video, I really dnt see much difference between both PS5 and Xbox series X, couple frame rate dips on Xbox series X but it is a demo little optimisation well fix tht no problem, One question tho does it even matter which version you play what about loadtime and the haptic on PS5 controller is it even being used 🤔.

  6. Just found your channel. Love these types of videos and we need more sources analyzing console performance and graphics instead of everyone just relying only on Digital Foundry for everything

  7. The Xbox Series X image quality seems better to me, Also Xbox has VRR so if you’re like me with a TV or Monitor with VRR you never see frame drops on the Xbox Series X like never ever.

  8. I have both consoles, and what I have noticed is that the series X has some problems locking in the 60 FPS most of the time and the textures on the PS5 are a little sharper than the series X. Graphics wise both consoles are not there just jet, I think we are going to start to see them by next year. This 2 company’s are to focus on backwards compatible and keeping old games alive. Lol I thought new consoles the freaking games, but it is what it is both companies got me for my money. Lol
