See the differences between the current gen and previous gen versions of Outriders’ prologue.

The demo for Outriders is now out, allowing you to play through the opening hours of developer People Can Fly’s upcoming multiplayer-focused action RPG. You can play the demo on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, and PC–the only system that doesn’t support the demo but will play the game at launch is Stadia.

In the video above, we do a side-by-side comparison of the Outriders demo, playing it both on PS4 and PS5. We take a look at how well the game performs on the two systems, both in terms of graphical quality and loading times.

In Outriders, you play as an Outrider, a specialized combat scout charged with leading humanity’s exploration across a new world after the destruction of Earth. Mutated by a freakish storm upon your arrival, you become an Altered–someone who can bend the elements to their will. You have the choice of commanding earth, fire, time, or technology.

The demo for Outriders covers the opening chapter, which includes several campaign missions and optional side quests. Your progress in the demo will transfer over to the full game once it launches on April 1. Like that version, the Outriders’ demo supports co-op, allowing you to team up with other players in three-person squads.

  1. Why are you doing a PS4 – 5 comparison??
People can’t even get a PS5. Not to mention it’s the inferior system.
That aside why would you compare the PS5 and Series X ?? That would actually be interesting

  2. Still don't understand why the cut scenes are 30fps on PS5 and on mine at least the audio is out of sync most times, no big deal yet since its a demo but I hope they polish alot of things but for the most part its fun if your not expecting a break through experience, its just a looter shooter…is what it is.

  3. Played the demo today, well tried to, on a base Xbox…let's just say the base systems are suffering from Cyberpunking! I have not had a chance to try on my series X since the game won't load there, but if it stays the same then the last gen base consoles are screwed!

  4. How many people own a PS4 Pro compared to a base PS4? Wouldn't PS4 vs. PS5 be more interesting, different and useful to more people?

Didn't Cyberpunk teach us this once and for all? Outlets need to get out of the habit of forgetting people playing on low end hardware. Every review being based on Pro as a minimum, for example, can't become a pattern for next gen.

  5. I tried the demo, its nicer than i thought overall. Considers getting it now. I hope more companies do like this, an actual full gameplay 1 chapter. And no time limit. Also did they forgot to turn on physics on ps5? XD
