Cover is for Cowards in Outriders, but it’s a necessary thing to catch a breather and reload your weapons. People Can Fly posted a new update on reddit discussing why cover is so terrible and how they plan to fix it.

Yeah, not a good look.. Admitting a core mechanic to a game that is going to release in two weeks is completely broken.. Are we going to see another Anthem/Marvel Heroes?
i think console third person shooters will allways be a pain in the ass for pc players.
i refunded this game after 30min of playing this game is such a big disapointment
I think its great they are looking at the Cover system, considering how many of it there is getting a better system in place to use it before launch is paramount in my opinion.
Wait! This gameplay! You are using mouse and keyboard? I thought it was best to use controller.
Just make the cover system like Gears of War and I think that will solve this problem.
The cover in the demo can be a little clunky. Albeit I've found the game moves so fast that I rarely need cover. It's more like an option than a necessity.
Remember, taking cover is optional.
That's why I'm like: "LEERROOOY JEENNKIINNS!!"
I think for me is the frustration I see in my friends trying out the demo and thinking I'll go in cover as in other looter shooters. Their frustration was trying to do say the Terra mission solo and getting completely overwhelmed. They know they can't hide in cover yet all the enemy fire is overwhelming. The get mad, well one of them, and just quit the demo. I helped him get his Pyro to L7 WT5 and he's definitely less squishy but still wonders how he would've done that alone. I experienced some of that frustration earlier on with Gauss. Not sure how things though.
In general I'm ok with the cover except when you run up to cover, need to reload and your characters stands there like an idiot.
i hope they address the aim assist too because it kinda sucks and i see no one talking about it
