I randomly hv those red explosive tanks blowing up and almost killing me….like no enemies around and it just blows up?!?

Why I picked up a shrapnel tool of destruction build, I pop my cooldowns walk in the mobs face and stand there. I normally tank between 2 and 3 million dmg a run

I’ve been dying still having health left too. And I’m doing a third of the damage I used to do. Did testing I used to do 60+ mil at the end of expeditions. Now I can barely get to 20, I’m thinking they nerfed another mod.
Is the damage taking the same route as the birds going south for winter
