Outriders has just rolled out a new patch to fix some technical issues, but the main takeaway is that chest farming has been nerfed, captain farming is still a think and now side missions can drop legendaries. What’s the best farm now?

  1. Marksman guys have same drop chance as captain. Always kill the captain and the two marksman. People need to understand we are only on WT5 once we are higher the drop rate will be much higher.

  2. why have chests? epics maybe? I mean you wont loot chests in expeditions so there is that
Loot crate runs were equally pathetic as adjusting the clock for vendor offers

  3. So Legendary drop rate is already garbage and they made it even worse. It's as though they're trying to kill the game before it even comes out. I know people still crash to desktop non stop in the game, and that's a pretty unacceptable way to have the game a month from launch, and now killing the already terrible Legendary farm, that's no good.

  4. Once u beat that boss in cut scene u gotta go back to girl vendor for the reward I got legendary pistols from that side quest a half hour ago but captain farm is most efficient way still

  5. I would hope they turn the chest back on for legendaries after launch. Like seriously, sure put a timer on it or something but simply not allowing for legendaries basically renders them as decorations and 100% useless at higher World Tiers.

  6. RNG was already a pain before the patch. After putting in 34 hours total of farming and getting nothing noteworthy on my Tech, I created a Trickster and got the machine gun from captain farm spot. But it was during the story run of it, (so Grim Marrow is lower level) and and it dropped from the chest on the hill behind the captain.

Shame its a weapon type I don't like. It feels like a Hyperion weapon from BL2, where you have to shoot for a bit for the accuracy to stabilize. Not a fan… On top of that, the slow it causes kind of works against Trickster. Since it has other slow abilities, enemies would build resistance faster. There is a stash box in the base that will open at launch, so at least I can send it to another character then.

  7. Outriders did not convince me YET. What is the purpose of a looter shooter if you cannot get the legendary loot from the chest after you have completed a mission???

  8. I think the payback side quest will be a good farm. You pick it up right where the quest starts, you kill some enemies, then kill a captain. Then finish the quest in the same place ot started.

  9. It's a demo: Play it, see if you have fun, evaluate what you're willing to pay for the game, move on. Farming legendary items is boring and trivializes future content. It just doesn't seem like a good thing to do.

  10. Why nerf a demo? Are they worried that people aren't going to play the actual game as much? I just don't see why it couldn't just be patched in the final game.

  11. but also probably don't farm, just wait for higher tiers and endgame and meaningful drop rates on leveled gear.

But also, I get it even the terrible captain farm is fun bc the abilities feel broken, but guys just wait. lol

  12. I get it, world chests seem pointless now. But honestly, I'm all for any changes which point people towards actually playing content rather than having the community try to find loot cave type efficiencies. The balance of that is, drop rates from general play have to be fair also, which I'm sure they will be at higher world tiers.

Honestly, looter communities are sometimes so invested at times with finding the path of least resistance rather than actually playing the game, that it makes me wonder why they don't just go and play some idle clicker if the only pleasure they get is watching numbers go up.

  13. Drop rates in the demo are super rough….for me at least. I'm not complaining, just jealous watching all these tubers with tons of legendary and epics. I have not had anything beyond a blue drop.
