Outriders Review – The Final Verdict

The most rewarding part of Outriders is how much it amplifies its own strengths to organically encourage you to play the way it knows you should. Even if I was frustrated at a difficult fight, I was more excited to get back into the swing of things than I was ready to quit. Its story is ambitious, if flawed in its execution, but I didn’t really care because the gameplay reaches so much of its potential.

Outriders is not a flawless game, nor is it one of the tightest or fat-free packages on the market, but its strengths are enough to forgive many of its weaknesses and keep you hooked to save the world again and again.

  1. To be honest this is definitely the best game I've played in a long long time. I can't stop playing. There's always something new to either do or get lol. Can't wait for future updates and dlcs.

  2. Played the demo and I wasn't impressed. Waited to see what was being said when the final product was released. After reading and watching players reviews on it I decided to buy it. Glad I did cause it's pretty damn fun once you get gear with mods and start experimenting with the mods along with skills and the skill tree.

  3. An endgame with 14 strikes, I mean expeditions, each with 15 difficulty levels, seems pretty solid to me. Add in all the monster hunts, outlaw hunts, and other side missions, each with 15 difficulty levels, that most people skipped during the main campaign, and the endgame gets even better. Now throw in the fact that very few people reached World Tier 15 during the well-told, well-acted, and gripping story campaign, and you have one of the best endgames available in any game. My adult son and I played through the 25 hour, 25 main mission campaign and were only good enough to reach World Tier 11. When we fought the final boss, we had to drop to World Tier 8 to beat him/it. So pick your poison because at World Tier 15, the main campaign becomes either 25 impossible strikes or 1 impossible 25 hour raid that you have to grind and gear-up for in order to beat at the highest difficulty level. No other looter shooter I know of offers this much endgame content, so I don't think endgame longevity will be an issue especially since PCF will eventually drop high-level DLCs into the game.

And did I mention the four incredibly different classes that many players will want to level up from level 1 to 50. Outriders is in a class by itself imo.

  4. It's just another bland cover-based loot grinder. Enemies are dumb as a brick who just stand in place and use cover. Bosses are just as dumb as other enemies but more of a bullet sponge. There are a shit ton of cutscenes including ones about opening a fucking door.

  5. Story isn’t that all disjointed if you play the game properly all the way through the story first it’s a pretty good story you know the same old tragedy of the human race being assholes and it’s a good story now if you’re going through and doing all your side missions and what not I can see how you might think it’s disjointed because you’re getting all these little backstory but that is the main story quest line is not disjointed at all and you should be playing through that first before you do anything else

Dude nobody cares how you go through the missions however anybody who’s played a game any game prior knows that you’re gonna wanna leave the side missions the first one you do you realize you get a guaranteed be salute at the end of it you get to pick one of three choices why would you use those at level 55

  8. Didn’t you hear dude it’s not a games as a service but it does have 15 endgame missions that you can do in rotation so I don’t see anybody getting bored with that soon people are still playing anthem with only five

  10. Don't want to sound like a hater but I noticed something in the review to point out. You mentioned that during the boss battle you found yourself waiting for your abilities to regen so you could get your health back , this is a problem mainly for the pyro as the other classes can regen health just with weapon damage. Also the lore collectibles do a good job of adding depth to the story so I think they deserve being spoken about.
