I have beaten the campaign of Outriders and every single side quest. Here’s what I think of the whole experience, how long it took, what difficulty I finished at, all of that. Lot to go through. Story spoilers midway through or so but I have a warning.

  1. "Auto Shotguns are unusable" – Not quite true, there is an amazing perk called "Perpetuum Mobile" that replenishes ammo if you get a kill when below 35% ammo left in mag, this does not consume reserves and allows you to use an Auto Shotgun almost infinitely for ad clearing.

  2. Currently 25 hours in and I’m only on chapter 11 of 18. I have done all side quests and hunts up til where I am in the story, but I do play solo. I’m getting way more hours out of this than I thought I would

  3. The writing in the beginning os not good. I am about two hours and think it is a waste of time. The way you have to load each wave was antiquated 10 years ago.

  4. I've been enjoying it. I would've never tried it if not for Game Pass because shooters aren't my thing, but I'm into the underlying tropes of the premise, and the trickster class (and time/space tropes), so that's what I'm playing for.

I greatly appreciate that it's this sort of game, with solid narrative emphasis, from what I've played. I also like the easily adjustable difficulty. I like how the difficulty necessitates skills and makes for a nice cohesive feel.

I'm okay waiting on stable servers. I originally started it as something to play while taking a break from Narita Boy, which got a bit challenging for me.

  5. Ah yes…the shaman….fuck that guy. I hate how the "altered" in this game are super bullet sponges who deal insane damage. That shaman was making me rage so hard and fighting it felt so dragged on and boring

  6. Think what square can offer after recording 20 years of millions of data, for a spike off of real Gambit , if this game decided off shoot version free to play,

  7. The game is a decent play so far . You start off really struggling and the guns suck and the game is janky but eventually it gets better .
Gears of war meets Diablo 3 , or bad at all . People can fly .

  9. I've played about 45 mins in 2 days. Still haven't even left the demo area because I was helping a friend get caught up.
Game is a dumpster fire. Online games shouldn't release in this state yet it happens every single time, like buy more servers or something Jesus H Christ.

  12. All I will say is that ammo reserves dont matter when a technomancer has blighted rounds with the right mods and never has to reload… 70% mag refund from a toxic kill is great

  13. Been playing the story on WT3-4…gives enough difficulty where it doesn't feel like Destiny easy-mode…but also doesn't make it take hours just to make it thru Quarry.
