I played the Outriders demo for about 3-4 hours and here are my first impressions! Overall Iโ€™ve got mixed feelings. I had a lot of fun playing the game but there are so many elements that I think are just not up to par with other looter-shooter games.

Outriders is a third-person shooter mixed with elements from role-playing games. In the beginning of the game, players create their custom characters and choose from four classes, each of them has unique abilities that the players can utilize. The four classes include Trickster, which has the ability to manipulate time, the Pyromancer, which can manipulate fire, the Devastator, which can unleash seismic attacks, and the Technomancer. These special skills have a short cooldown time and can be combined with other skills for maximum effects. The game features a skill tree that allows players to unlock and upgrade their skills.

Players can use different weapons such as shotguns and assault rifles to defeat enemies, and firearms can be customized with weapon mods. Players can hide behind cover to shield themselves from enemy attacks, though health will only regenerate if the player manages to hurt or kill enemies. Players combat both monsters and human enemies. As the player progresses, the world level (the gameโ€™s equivalent to gameplay difficulty) will increase. If the world level is high, it is more likely for the player to get high-end loot from defeated enemies.

The game incorporates various role-playing elements. As the players explore, they can explore different hub areas, talk to non-playable characters and complete side missions. In cutscenes a dialogue tree allows to decide the outcome of some conversations, though it does not affect the storyโ€™s progression. The game can be played solo, but players can also complete the game together with two other players.

  3. of course you arent pre ordering. Youre a Division fanboy who is still deluding himself than Red Storm isnt going to give you a minimum viable product moving forward considering Massive has moved onto Avatar and Star Wars. Division 2 is dead as a door nail.

  4. If they set out to make a compelling narrative for the game, they failed. However, if their real goal was to create a migraine and vomiting inducing program, they've been 100% successful! 10/10, will play again when I'm in the mood for headache induced nausea. I loved it, NOT!

Seriously, if whoever designed the cut scenes has Parkinson's, they nailed it in the rendered camera movement! Probably a world's first.

No option to turn off that horrendous motion blur either…

  5. Yep i agree with what you said about the movement, the game have a good potential, story line, gear, enemies, etc… but, the movement its a little weird… im a fps player almost the time but when i play tpp, i think division 2 have the best movement in all games! I dont like gears of war movement too, but let give the devs a chance because its a demo, lets wait to see the upcoming content!

Boss are just BIG BAGs OF BULLETS thats it ๐Ÿ™‚ if you like sponge boss thats ok. but outriders whit a demo not full game show that at least in boss fights did a lot better job then division by far. Whit this look m8 i prefer a small good cake then a big cake whit not taste . How i feel about "division bosses" cya ๐Ÿ˜‰

  7. As a Division veteran myself, I dont see how you can compare this to those games. This is more like Gears of War meets Destiny meets Borderlands. That said, I am looking forward to getting it.

  8. One thing I can't stand is comparison videos. Eveything that was said in the video is ultra nitpick that will probably be totally different in the main game. Apart from a few minor bugs here and there the demo is really good. The motion blur will be probably have a button in the main game for you to turn off so the camera issues shouldn't be a problem. This is an old demo whereas the main game will get a huge amount of fixes before release. You do get notifications of new loot. It's main level 7 out of 30 and tier level 5 out of 15. Trust me its going to get a lot harder and alot more enjoyable as the game goes on.

  9. why use Gears of War as an argument or comparison if you never played it.. Is beyond me

You not really talking about objective issues more like the issue that it's not like another game you play (div), instead of reviewing it as a new game and give examples, you use other games that either you never played or are completely dif from this game to argument these personal preferences.

  10. I enjoyed it but the cover system is not so good I found myself being rushed and couldnโ€™t get off cover 2 enemies either side of me and I was stuck to it. Also donโ€™t like the fact you take damage when using a skill. Iโ€™m in cover but the skill makes you stand up so you get hit then leaves you standing there and you have to return to cover yourself. Personally I would prefer it if it auto returned you to cover.
