Join me as I play Baldur’s Gate 3, a D&D CRPG. Tav’riel is kidnapped and taken aboard a mind flayer’s ship, and a parasite thrust into her brain. Can she and her companions rid themselves of the parasite before it turns them into illithids?~

  2. I though you wouldn't resist playing it. I played all the BG games twice. I play mainly RPG's. I also played the two "divinity original sin" games made by Larian studio, there were excellent! So the expectation is hight for this game and so far it's gorgeous!

  3. Hello! You have probably figured this out by now, when you noticed you weren't jumping very far – this is actually determined by strength, which you chose the lowest value for :3 Love the videos, you are the only tuber I've seen who READS thank yoouuuu Edit* Nooo you missed the legendary elf thrall X'D

  4. @1:01:44 "Hate how it didn't warn me". Yep, just didn't notice it. Great game, like the way you are thinking about things but had to chuckle at that.

Have you played D&D before or not? I couldn't tell from the gameplay since it seems that a lot is new to you but that could be the CRPG aspect too.

  5. I was loving every moment of the character creation. I was talking to the screen each time I wanted you to pick what I liked and every time it happened I was cheering. It happened often and now my sister is side-eyeing me. 🙂 Thanks for uploading this.

  8. It is so sad that they use 5e for this game – 3.5 was so much better.

Rangers are not necessarily focusing on Ranged by the way – since the class was introduced with AD&D first edition it was primarily a Melee class specializing in 2 weapon combat; the Ranged version was added in AD&D 2nd edition with the Archer subclass.

41:54 Well – maybe it is a good idea to have higher Charisma because you're not proficient in persuasion. Instead of being really good at it you'll be average – if you're not proficient and have low Charisma you'll just be awfull at persuasion. It doesn't have to be either of the extremes.

1:07:02 That thing doesn't attack, that's the controlls for the elevator to get to the upper level – which is the way to reach the person on the operation table by the way.

PS: It is such an awfull rule that Dex is used as damage modifier for damage with ranged weapons – in reality using bows (speaking of medieval bows, not high tech mondern sports bows) requires A LOT of strength. Bows used in war had a draw weight of a at least 70 pounds and went all the way up to 200 pounds draw weight. In D&D terms this means that any character with a low strength score shouldn't be capable of using bows at all because they would not be able to actually draw the bow, let alone firing arrows to any meaningfull effect.

PPS: Since attribute scores are hard capped at 20 anyway in 5e it is actually a huge waste of attribute points if you go for a super high score in one attribute. Starting with a 16 is totally fine since you'll cap out eventually anyway. However – you have to spend more points on the score to raise it above 16 so you'll end up with a character that simply has fewer attribute points if you push an attribute to 17 at the start. The only way of increasing attributes above 20 is by using artifacts and similar super powerfull magic.
