  1. You're overrating Skarner. He's predictable and too slow to get off the ground. He was also never actually OP top even if a few Skarner mains inflated his win rate there. This will bring him into the limelight but I doubt he'll be OP. Max order is debatable but Q max isn't as impactful if you're going utility and tank. I think the reason for the different max orders scoring similarly is that Q max improves clear speed and objective taking. Skarner's a farm heavy jungler so even if Q isn't giving a lot, it does help him scale faster. The best Skarners seem to mostly max E then W.

I also think it's incorrect to consider something as actually OP just because it has a higher win rate (especially for situational low play rate champs). For example, I don't think Nocturne is truly OP in either top or mid. He exploits SQ (especially bad drafts) and is reliable. He has counters and generally gets outscaled. He's easy to play so I think you'd see him more in pro play if he were inherently OP. It's fair to say he's overperforming but overpowered has a different meaning. Overpowered refers to the objective state of a champion.

BTW: The Ziggs change confused me too. He's a situationally viable bot laner but pretty awful in mid when you're getting to Diamond+. Many matchups are risky, he's unreliable and he never becomes a massive scaling threat either. It would have made more sense to bump up the scaling AP spikes on his passive or some other more level dependent aspect of his kit.

  2. I agreed with so many of your general thoughts on how the game should operate in this rundown and I'm so happy to hear you say that stuff, since a lot of it is counter to what Riot seems to be doing and it's just nice to know at least some folks in Riot represent my thoughts regardless. Namely not being thrilled about strong champs getting buffed for pro play, or embracing champs going to other positions on the map and just letting it happen. You rock Phreak

  3. I dont think akali e change is a buff she needs to get ahead early so she can snowball if u nerf her early she cant get lane prio kills good trades etc. so she wont able to scale to mid game instead of that she will be useless mid game but q buff still a buff (its small tho)

  4. how is that a small eve buff?
its half the in combat cd on her main damage ability, thats a massive buff

also, buffing objectivly strong champs and nerfing champs who are under 50%
riot balancing around pro is a mistake and whoever decided to first start doing it should live the rest of their life with wet socks

and i cannot stress how much i hate that tristana buff
adcs already have rediculously overloaded abilities
tristanas e has one of the highest ad ratios in the game, it already does MASSIVE amounts of damage, making it do more just makes her MORE irritating to play against (and shes already one of the most irritating to play against champions out there)
if you want to buff adcs in a way that actually makes them good to play against and not absolute cancer like tristana and caitlyn, give them a 2nd MEANINGFULL ability
as it is right now all the "crit" adcs have 1 ability that does anything the rest are all just "crit faster" and as a result that ability is rediculously overloaded making them feel awfull to play against early cos you get hit by 1 ability and lose all your health, and awfull to play against late, because you dodge an ability that would have done nothing anyway, then get right clicked and lose all your health
give them a 2nd meaningfull damage ability, these 600 damage at rank 3 basic abilities need to go

  5. As someone who has been playing Akali for quite some time I have to say the split damage has been one of my favorite aspects of itemizing her. The diversity in what you build made her really fun to me.

  6. On Skarner you aren't factoring his q passive that doubles it's damage and the passive that reduces it's cool down by .25 sec X4 for champions, also ranking up q reduces it's cool down to 2.5 from 3.5. all of this is better evaluated by a dps check then base ability value due to the abilities short cool down and damage amp passive. Also the Mana nurf was the biggest reason top Skarner win rate dropped so hard, also people we're testing different builds like attack speed and ap.

  7. As a Karma main, I don't understand why they continue to nerf her Q. It's her only spell that makes her more than just a shield bot. That playstyle isn't fun. You pick Karma to harass in lane (solo or duo lane). With the cooldown going up and the cost being higher early why on earth would you ever pick this champion now? If you want to just play a shield support that basically only shields you'll play Janna or Lulu. Karma is losing the ONE thing that made her unique to that role. Not to mention the fact that I actually really enjoy Mid Karma and now that's heavily nerfed when it wasn't even oppressive to begin with…..If they really want to nerf her out of pro play why aren't they touching her E or R-E. That is the SOLE reason she is played in competitive, yet here we are AGAIN gutting her sole damage and harrassment tool due to pros abusing her team-wide shield and move speed buff…I just don't get it.

  8. so about yasuo he has 48% but u say he need buffs champ like yasuo with high skill cap and 25% pick rate should sit on 45% winrate at max beside the pick rate point i otp azir azir now have 46% winrate and he is broken it just ppl bad at the champ azir shouldnt get buff dont u agree u should count on champ pickrate and skill cap not only the winrate cause i think champ like yasuo in good hand is broken

  9. That's not why Karthus bot breaks the game. It's because a support like Leona/Naut can lock people down for 2-3 isolated Q's and kill them from full. People are actually doing leona/karthus funnel because this combo is so stupid strong. It 100% kills anything Leona gets onto. When the incompetents at the balance team finally figure out how to dumpster funnel once and for all, people will move onto leona/karthus, mark my words.

Also THANK YOU for finally starting to call out the favoritism in the balance team. It's very real. Karthus is a great example of a champion that is just allowed to be perpetually broken and abusable, this last round of buffs proved it. Riot's said powerfarming junglers are toxic and don't want that to be the norm, is why they killed feral flare, yet Karthus is just allowed to be the exception, turbofarm, press R, and win the game through sheer value. Yi and Shyvana don't get anywhere near that kind of love season after season.

  10. I think part of the roaming support issue is that staying in lane takes away xp from someone else. If support spends the entire game running around the map he gets screwed over, but you essentially have 3 solo laners and two junglers.

  11. Good job on reducing the intake for this video, or learning to suppress it. More inclined to believe you reduced the amount you used. You were no where near as high as you have been in other videos. No where near as many symptoms.

I hope you keep it at around this level so I can stop bringing it up.

    Cheers mate.

  12. I would love for Riot to put a catch up system (compared to your team avg level) in the vision game. Ward placing and killing gives much more gold and exp if you have support or jungle items. This would help pro Junglers and support have a more normalized level compared to their teammates.

  13. Wow Naut is only 49.1% winrate? Huh. He feels so obscenely oppressive. Well, that's fine. I'm perfectly content if Naut has a 20% winrate. The champ needs to leave the botlane forever. lol

  14. Here's a tidbit that I find kinda interesting about the Lucian ult changes: since they're buffing the amount of shots in it but not changing the time it takes to complete, that means the amount of shots/s is also changing, so I did a bit of math comparing those rates and found that, at ranks 1 and 2, you need to be hitting your target with the ult for 0.75 seconds for the change to be a buff (as in, to get at least 1 extra shot in compared to before), and that time reduces to 0.5 seconds at rank 3.

  15. Champions like bard pyke and blitz in my opinion should be 50+ winrate due to the amount sacrifices they do to win the game. Therefor I hate that Bard recives these heavy nerfs which impacts mostly his solo que winrate. If Riot wanted to nerf his winrate in pro only, best would be to nerf aarmor and R cooldown.
Very disappointed with the way they nerfed a champion who needs to be strong to be played.

  16. This might be me being biased since my fave champion is MF. But I like your points regarding her situation. I get it she was top ADC for quite a while, but the last few nerfs she received at her lowest point she's been hanging bottom 5 adc in win rates.

  17. @Phreak, do want to point out that skarner does significantly more damage with Q max because of how low the cooldown is (for every cast of E or W, skarner can expect 3-4 casts of Q). Especially after this buff, Q max skarner is just stronger on his own. E max is a luxury when your solo laners are in good matchups so you can go full utility and win off it.

  18. ADCs should scale off gold, so the Tristana buff is a good example of how to make an ADC better. Their level scaling should be moderate, which also goes toward reducing their effectiveness in solo lanes.

Also, I know you always skip bug fixes, but obviously you read them so if there was something broken maybe you should mention it. And this one "Synced up Chaos and Order cannon minions' attack ranges" … funny bug that's apparently been in the game since Alpha and would affect side winrates would be interesting to track.

  19. Hmm.. what if the support items had a "pool" of exp that gathered up while put of exp range of stuff (think… of like rested exp in some MMOs) that grants additional exp when near exp sources

  20. As someone who maxed Fracture years before pros picked up on it, I think that Q max vs W max second is game dependant. If you get ahead, then max Q second to continue to flex your position. Otherwise, rank W so that you have the agency to impact teamfights.
