  1. Want to know WHY the shit hit harder for CDPR?! Because they are/were in a large portion of the gaming community has the most honest, and a company who makes fantastic experiences.
If people didn't care they wouldn't have hyped it to the moon… ppl couldn't have been disappointed.
A good company with no shady past promoted the HELL out of a game that interested pretty much everyone. How could it not be a bigger shitstorm for CDPR.
I mean honestly if Bethesda offered a bug free good running game… that would be the stories everywhere for a week! If EA made a AAA GAME Without loot boxes peoples jaw would hit the floor.

  2. Why are Sony players so upset? why did they buy it on PS4 anyway? it's a known fact that they all have high end gaming rigs that could easily run cyberpunk completely fine that's how they play all Xbox exclusives right?

  3. 22:21 As someone who works in PR (albeit not at CDPR), that's most likely exactly what happened. Don't blame the PR/Marketing people. They know this is bullshit… thing with PR is, they come up with the ideas and statements, but the suits are the ones calling the shots. And some, if not most, suits are immune to advice on this. I am sure PR told them this was a bad idea, but they didn't care. I can literally imagine PR pressing "Tweet" while dreading what's inevitably to come of it.

I feel bad for the developers over this, but I feel just as bad for the PR people who have to clean up this mess on a communication front when they probably knew it was the worst thing to do from the get go.

By the way, about refund policies: I recently had a game on my PS4 that worked fine one evening, and didn't even launch anymore the next. Let me tell you even with a game that doesn't launch anymore I had to be super persistent with Sony to get a refund cause "you already played it". 10 mails back and forth and I cracked and cited law paragraphs to them and that's when they finally started considering a refund, and even then it took another 3 weeks to actually be on my account because I had to provide several instances of evidence.

So yeah. We need new policies at least at Sony.

  4. Imran has a "fun" take on CDPR's attitude towards the post-launch, but it's completely bogus. CDPR aren't squirreling away like someone who gave you a fender bender, they are deep in the trenches with their botched launch and trying to account for it. At least give credit where it is due.

  5. Prediction: With the Polish government subsidising CDPR and considering the company a heavy PR machine for the country AND the nature of the government (extreme control) expect political demands for the management to step down or at the least publicly grovel and agree with extreme financial punishment.

  6. 2021 kinda Funny needs to wake up and realize their content isn't worth the price they are asking for, they need to settle down and place all their 10 dollars content into the 5 dollar tier and your patreon will blow up again. You guys (mostly Tim) are over valuing kinda Funny content. I refuse 10 dollars a month when every equivalent channels with, better content ill argue, charges 5 dollars for exclusive content.

  7. Greg & Imran have a point. Live service games are a thing now. Most of those fail at launch. This has been the generation with the most disappointments. There are also a ton of games that fail to live up to the hype due to unrealistic deadlines and scope.

    Destiny, Street Fighter V,
    Watch Dogs, Ghost Recon: Wildlands
    Killer Instinct, Warframe,
    Crackdown 3,
    Anthem, Mass Effect: Andromeda,
    Avengers, Evolve,
    Fallout 4, Fallout 76, Assassin’s Creed: Unity,
The unfinished Metal Gear Solid V,
    No Man’s Sky,
    Star Wars: Battlefront II,
    Battlefield V,
The Witcher III: Wild Hunt (at launch)
Cyberpunk 2077… I could go on.

  8. Sony have added a button to the playstation uk store specifically for refunding this one game… it's insane… they said they might not be able to return my money until January but that's cool. So glad cd project red are getting what they deserve for those review copy shenanigans.

  9. Sorry but this one is too much.

Cyberpunk is buggy, yes. In some parts, it’s broken, and that isn’t acceptable. But this is not much more than other high profile games to have had the backlash it has.

I’m playing the game, and yea it crashes sometimes, yea it has the odd graphical error, but I had way worse experiences on other games and never had mass stock recall or digital delisting on those. I don’t understand why the backlash on this game is so nuclear.

Underneath the bugs this is a great game. In spite of the bugs this is still a great game. If it weren’t for them trying to actually appease their fan base by offering refunds we wouldn’t be talking about this. It would just be another case of “yea the games buggy but they’re patching it, just be patient” like EVERY OTHER STUDIO GETS AWAY WITH.

  10. It sounds like devs had very different opinions about where the state of the game was. I feel for them. And all of the people telling us to shut up about crunch and how Poland had great law policies or whatever Fuck You! Clearly devs have been unhappy with this stuff and the icing on the cake was releasing a broken game and lying to them and consumers. People literally buried Bethesda, Bioware, Ubisoft, etc for releasing a bugfest or even games with missing content and CDPR now joins them.
That goes to show that companies need to be aware of the state of their games and not lie to their consumers. It also should be a lesson to everyone that no company who only cares about money, is on your side. All these people defending CDPR and their sketchy practices now hopefully learns a lesson.

  11. Was easier for Sony to drop it from their store due to Microsoft having their deal with cyberpunk. It runs better on Xbox platforms according to digital foundry also.

  12. CDPR had a golden oportunity before launch to let everyone know the game wouldn't work on last gen consoles: "hey guys we said it would workon this harware but the game is a lot bigger andmore ambitious so is not going to work on 8 yr old consoles" bam! you delivered the bad news while proping up the game.
on sony's thing, they had to list the game is the only way to keep their return policy in place after the fiasco, slap CDPR a bit for throwing them under the bus and say to the other developers out there "don't even think about pulling this or we will pull your game too".
