Friday Night Funkin’ is a rhythm game in which the player controls a character called Boyfriend, who must defeat a series of opponents in order to continue dating his significant other, Girlfriend. The player must pass multiple levels, referred to as “weeks”, each containing three songs. Each week, the player faces a different opponent, though some deviate in structure from this via the inclusion of multiple opponents. During gameplay, the opponent will sing a pattern of notes (represented as arrows) which the player must then mirror by using the arrow keys or the W, A, S, and D keys. Some songs introduce more complicated patterns, with the player’s pattern sometimes varying from the opponent’s or both singers engaging in a duet.

  18. Here’s how I think the dialogue would go
    Before the song: Yuri casually walking through the halls
    Y: “man, where is everyone? I haven’t seen anyone for miles”
    M: speaking into a walkie-talkie “target acquired, closing in” she starts running after yuri
    Y: “do I hear footsteps?” she turns around and sees monika “m-monika?” she realizes monika is gonna chase after her “W-woah, back off!”
    Middle of the song: monika drops back
    Y: “ok she’s leaving, thank goodness” she notices natsuki, who’s turned away from yuri “hey pinkie, why is monika acting so weird?”
    N: “you don’t even know your fate, lady…” she turns to yuri who is frightened by natsuki’s red appearance. Natsuki manically laughs and then chases after yuri
    End of the song: natsuki drops back
    Y: “phew, idk what happened, but I should be safe-“ she’s then killed by monika

  21. I'd like to think that Monika tried to pull a Sans moment and just go for it at the start, rather than starting off slow. (Because SHE was the one who went first and not Natsuki)
