  1. I would like to see you redo this once AMD releases FidelityFX Super Resolution and games support it. I'm curious what that will be like, hopefully, a reasonable compromise if it's anywhere as good as DLSS.

  2. 60 for games that aren’t online and competitive, 120 for competitive shooters etc. I didn’t notice things missing on XSX though, could you do a comparison of both systems with the same game now and after the upcoming AMD update? Also with Samsung treating gamers the way they are what would you recommend for a multi platform gamers out of the 2021 crop of TV’s?

  3. oleds and LED technology is a joke. Plasma was a lot better technology, especially for sports and movies. I was watching Alfred Hitchcocks To catch a thief and at the end of the movie the clay tile roof is just simply a joke with motion smoothing. Oleds are unwatchable without motion smoothing and what I am seeing two steps backward, not two steps forward. if you have a plasma, dont buy an oled. You will most likely be very disappointed with sub par picture rendering and absolutely failing abismal motion. if I could do it over, I would never have bought my oled and I have a sony. Talk about getting less for your money, The definition of Capitalism. less for more. The sad thing is Plasma is an old technology. cmon man!!!!!!!

  4. Response time improvement is probably placebo. You are seeing more frames though so it will make you a better gamer. The greatest impact of 120 hz is reduced blur with motion, particularly camera rotation. The benefit varies from game to game but can make a lower resolution image (1440p120 vs 4k60 for example) ‘look’ better when moving

  5. Great video Mr. Teoh!

This is something I worried about with 120fps gaming on these next-gen consoles, and it appears you’ve confirmed it.

The games remove assets, shadows, and some features to hit 120fps. I know there are sacrifices that need to be made, but removing bushes, flowers, and significant shadows.

If the console changes the way the game looks significantly, is this a true 120fps experience?

Reminds me of high end TVs and Blu-ray players playing Movies to be viewed with settings that make them look like the movie’s director intended.

I think with these sacrifices, the games don’t look like the game designers intended, and can even look quite different than the other players I might be playing against.

Imagine lack of shadows causing an enemy player to be seen easier on my 120fps settings vs someone else’s 60fps gameplay…

If the game assets and parameters change significantly, then I don’t consider this a true 120fps gaming experience. It’s a watered down 120fps experience.

To be clear, I will plan to play most of my first person shooters in 120fps for reaction times and smoothness. Outside of this, I am doubtful I will enable the settings for 120fps.

    Thanks for this great video!

  6. I have the Xbox X and the CX ,tried the 60fps in Cod black ops and it looked terrible. immediately went back to the 120. It also seemed the response was so sluggish in 60fps compared to 120fps

  7. Why is black elevated and highlights duller in 120Hz? Is it because of YPbPr's compressed range? Why would blacks be elevated if RGB limited doesn't elevate blacks? Wouldn't the TV and source just agree on the same reference black level like RGB?
