I may regret wading into the console wars, but I have encountered enough small frustrations with my PlayStation 5 where Xbox Series X just seems like the better alternative for almost all third party games going forward. Let me explain why.

  1. I swear the "Copying " updates on PS4 only started like early 2020, I remember because it suddenly took twice as long to update everything, yet everyone talks as if it was there all along, am I nuts here?

  2. This might be something that is being taken a little out of proportion. This is happening for games that have a transition and a cross-gen period – something that won't be the case for games that are exclusive for PS5.

Also wholeheartedly disagree with the UI complains. It's a massive upgrade to the PS4 UI that was not only extremely slow, but really boring outside of the fact you could have Themes. Sony went creative with it. Complaining that they innovated is like complaining that the Dualsense is bad because it's an innovation against the Dualshock.

  3. Meh. There is nothing special on xbox except the game pass which is full of games not so interesting. As for exclusives… Sony is again a long way ahead. Backward compatibility is better, but who buys a new gen console to play games that have 10 years or more. The only thing Sony has always lacked of is colored/joyful games like Nintendo ones. For the rest, it's so much better to play on a PS..

NB: before you talk, I have the PS5 and the S, just like I had the PS4 Pro and the One X, on both generations, I spend 99% of my time on the PS.

  4. Well considering you play trash games like outriders and used to be a PC main this isn’t surprising. Let’s not pretend that you didn’t switch to ps5 because of the hype. Literally every PlayStation exclusive beats all Xbox games, game pass, and Bethesda.

  5. Remember this guy's:
    Microsoft started as software
Sony got into this through hardware
Thinking about it like that, it's obvious why stuff like smart delivery is on Xbox but the PS5 controller is the way it is.

  6. While I can remember almost all of these problems happening to both of the consoles at different times and knowing the UI and other stuff can be updated; the only thing unforgivable is not getting rid of the copying phase for games.

  7. When I can get a series x I will, to replace my 1X. When I can buy a PS5 I’ll definitely be considering getting one for this exclusives that may turn up. And if Xbox live goes free … save some cash too

  8. PS party chat is probably their worst decision they have made in such a long time. That’s in addition to allowing anyone at anytime to record your party chat without permission. I love my PS5 but because of these things, I’ll mostly be an Xbox player this generation. The series X has been solid.

  9. To be fair, xbox series X is performing better or looking better on most third party. When PS5 is performing better, i think it comes down to devs having the dev kits and software earlier. But time will tel

  10. I intended to buy myself a new Xbox for Christmas but couldn't because they just weren't available. Thing is now that the hype has died down, I rarely remember that I'm even playing things on an old gen console. All I really do is play destiny like 90% of the time so I don't know if the upgrade is worth it

  11. I love playstation but lately they've been slipping like how they were in the early ps3 days. Just a bunch of weird decisions on their part that's slowly building up and frustrating consumers.

  12. I too have a series x and a ps5. Love the controller, love the games, love the look of the UI of the PS5 over the Series. But the Wifi issues, the weird unintuitive UI (not the look mind you), no quick switch/resume, no vsync, weird bugs, the awful system design AND the small NVME drive are glaring issues. IF PS5 didn't have those sweet exclusive games (including the ps4 exclusives that have been given ps5 upgrades) then there would be no reason to use it over the series x. A lot of these things can be fixed (the UI, wifi bug fix, implement quick switch/resume, fix bugs, implement vsync) etc. But yeah i feel you.
