  1. Scalpers are scum, people buying from Scalpers are scum, Best Buy enables bots and they are scum, GameStop is a dumb and enables scalpers and employees to fleece the supply and they are scum, etc.

  2. Can everyone stop begging for laws. It should be legal to buy and sell whatever the market offer. It is up to sony to make sure their system are baught by those they want. Example sony could require identification with each purchase, or they could require thst you create an account where it would be very difficult for a bot to do. Limit each person to a set max number of purchases

  3. Here is my suggestion for Sony and other manufacturers that might help them hold on to gamers, and improve their success rate of games to consoles. Maybe for the next round, send an invite to every PSN Subscriber that includes option to either purchase direct through the Playstation website and/or options for a Purchase Code to purchase (1 console and/or console bundle) from a local Retailer. The system can be setup for someone to log-in under their profile, go to the item, select Add to Cart – then takes you to a landing page for Purchase Code entry. Viola – a real check and balance on real life Gamers trying to make a purchase on an item they intend to actually use and in turn make Playstation and the game developers a lot of $$$.

  4. I honestly wont even bother trying to get a ps5 until this stupid carry on is ended. I had money to buy one but might spend it on something else now. I am just sick of waiting so Il get one next year or something.

  5. Good let Sony suffer for their poor planning and inaction. Ryan said they had discussed purchase queues and other strategies to manage demand- but decided that having a “launch day” was more important. I’ve said from day one that this scalping will be a issue for software and accessory sales because scalpers don’t buy those. Hope the having a precious launch day instead of a managed purchase queue was worth it to them!

  6. 1. Sony takes a loss on the consoles, so didnt want to overproduce them
    2. Sonys primary income is the software, not hardware
    3. Nobody buying software because profiteers all have the hardware in their garage collecting dust. According to Sony, Nov saw 233,000 units sold, but only 60,000 actually purchased a single game. Meaning 2/3 of hardware is likely scalped/sitting unused
    4. This is how Sony turns into SEGA, selling at a loss and not able to make profit on software leaving them in massive debt.

  7. Easiest way to stop scalpers is literally to not buy at scalped prices. the people paying over price are the ones perpetuating the situation, the scalpers do it, because they know shmucks will pay it. I'm not gonna get one probably until mid next year and I'm probably gonna have zero problem acquiring one for RRP. the public has 100% of the power to screw over scalpers, but they don't because they are WEAK ='D What are you gonna do in the next 6 months with a PS5? play Spiderman or assassins creed for a month, and then not play it again for the next 5 months? just freaking cool your jets and wait for more games =P

  8. sorry guys… scalpers are pricks, but its not illegal.. you need to rrealize that to make laws against buying and reselling items that are then OWNED by you, would be a much worse violation than scalping
