RDNA 2 Ray Tracing UNLEASHED – PC Xbox & PS5 Performance Boost | Alder Lake HUGE Leak – IPC Revealed

Yet another juicy update for AMD, with more details surfacing on how RDNA 2 ray tracing will be UNLEASHED, resulting in a performance boost across PC, Xbox Series X and PS5 platforms. Ray tracing adoption and importance has been steadily increasing, but RX 6000 RDNA 2 GPUs from AMD have fallen behind Nvidia’s RTX 30 Ampere cards for ray tracing. But, it seems that AMD are working on boosting the performance of RDNA 2 for raytracing.

We also have a HUGE leak for Intel’s Alder Lake, thanks to a report from Videocardz (linked below). They reveal crucial details on Alder Lake, including the expected IPC of the upcoming architecture. With Rocket Lake failing to impress against Zen 3 CPUs from AMD, can Alder Lake processors finally put Intel back on the map?

  1. It's going to end up with a shit situated where games that Nvidia sponsors are going to be RTX exclusive and everything else will have AMD proprietary tech for the consoles.
All gamers suffer the consequences of a lack of a standard.

  2. As someone who doesnt even think raytracing looks much better in most games and definitely doesnt justify the performance hit, i still cant justify going amd unless their upscaling is as good as dlss which i dont see happening since its not even using machine learning, 4060ti and zen 4 sounds like a good target in 2 years or so

  3. Intel's CPUs could be decently received if they priced it appropriately.
The top I9 chip should be $350. They should eradicate at least half the variants they have announced. Adjust all the chips price points to suit the new highest end chip price.
Then you would have something to consider. Do I want an 8 core power draining heater block, or a 6 core AMD alternative? It's an actual choice.
As they are, I9 is way overpriced that no one should buy.

  4. We going to see the facts about the new consoles with bencmarks in 3 years after launch day when next generation games will launch out without supporting cross generations, many fanatic clowns still argument about it since they don't have noting to play i guess

Mean time i enjoy my PS5 almost 4 months now, the best console ever made with UI, controller and games

When developers will lerning the new technology to work with, when games will built from the ground with PS5 capabilities in mind it will be amazing, especially PS exclusives games

For those who want great ray tracing performance go buy high end PC with Nvidia GPU

  5. I am beginning to become really sick of commenters saying AMD cannot do similar DLSS its too hard and AMD is just like Nvidia. Do people ever do research or look at other Video cards besides the latest ones. Because of that I am beginning to see why Nvidia tricks you guys for years into higher and higher prices for mainly gimmicks lol. You guys look at Nvidia like the prom queen who treats you like crap but kisses you every once in awhile and whispers "I am sorry baby" and you forget and forgive her. P.S. Stop believing all Techtubers they are mainly in this to create a narrative and make more money and views. Not all but the vast majority. This channel is decent tho.

  6. When you keep in mind Alderlake's Big/Little design and the fact that the Windows Hardware scheduler is crap, it kind of makes sense that Intel would go for an on-chip hardware scheduler instead. That being said, Alderlake has always looked like it was designed more like a laptop chip first and a desktop chip second. The big/little configuration looks to me like it's meant more for keeping energy consumption under control, not for upping the performance in more absolute terms. That's not to say that Alderlake will be bad. I think it'll be pretty decent overall, but I also suspect that AMD will be able to keep its performance crown. At the very least, even if Alderlake manages to take the crown from Zen3+ (I'm assuming that's coming out next fall) AMD will be able to take it back pretty quickly when launches its Zen 4 Architecture.

I should also note that I'm not sure just how interested Intel is going to be in the performance crown going forward. Right now, their best markets are servers and laptops. In both cases, having the performance crown isn't really all that important. Instead, Intel may end up focusing on getting its energy consumption as low as possible while increasing its production so it can beat out AMD on availability. If 2020 and 2021 have demonstrated anything, it's that AMD doesn't have the sort of production capacity to really be the next Intel at the moment. That may change over time, but right now Intel's biggest advantage is that they can make their own fabs that they don't have to share with anybody. So they may decide to focus on that at least in the short to medium term.

Mind you, for that strategy to work Intel can't keep having these huge delays with getting new fabrication processes up and running. If they can't do that, then they might as well give up on the idea of competing on capacity as well.

  7. All we need from Intel Xe is solid performance and real price.
I have no doubt that their drivers will work properly, they have huge stockpile of money and enough people who working on the software to cover both AMD and Nvidia twice.
I don't care right now for Ray Tracing and DLSS just give me RTX 3060Ti performance for normal price $200-$300 otherwise it will be DOA.

  8. Honestly if they can make enough gpus and not lag too far behind they would be in the market with amd and nvidia. Right now a small performance boost for the same money isn't really much of a big deal if you can't get your hands on the better gpu till a later date or paying extra which kinda breaks the point of it being equal price for better performance.

Intel have probably chosen the best time to get into the gpu market as their gpus are bound to sell well unless they're a big failure

  9. If RDNA 3 is already coming next year I’ll just have fun with my GTX1080TI until that comes, and ofc AMD’s raytracing features being fleshed out.
I’m exited to see how it performs against RTX.

  10. As long as intel xe is appropriately priced then it'll succeed. The performance doesn't even need to be amazing, maybe even 1-2 generations behind the competition and it'll still sell well.
